While testing by planting a soldier in front of a blood weapon and reloading to see it's effects nothing when hit with the weapon made any sense at all. Sometimes you'd fully resist it but still take 99% of your health. Sometimes it would do 10 damage and one shot you, sometimes you'd get one shot even if you resisted, sometimes you get hit for 50 and also get one shot, sometimes you randomly survive but then take environmental damage when your turn starts (environmental damage isn't supposed to come into effect until the next turn) and die instantly, and most egregiously you might survive and then die on turn start as if you took the already glitched environmental damage even when you aren't in a gas cloud! The most consistent thing is the environmental damage itself despite it being massively over tuned for what it is (the glitched damage on turn start exacerbates this) and everything I just said also applies to acid and even smoke but to a lesser degree for each in turn. A smoke grenade currently can hit you for 2 damage and you'll just instantly die for no reason. Acid does the same thing but just more reliably than smoke.
It's like it just does a roll between 1-500 and deals whatever it rolls to you as unmitigated damage with acid and smoke having a smaller damage range. Maybe it is mitigated but the damage amount is so great that even in the best armour in the game you're basically naked. Whatever number appears on screen might have nothing to do with what's actually happening or maybe it adds on top of it. Who knows but it's definitely broken right now. Might test human acid grenades to see if they are also borked. If they are you can cheese most of the game using them due to how broken this is specially since they are one of the cheapest and earliest to produce grenades in the game.
