How exactly do we use the router?
I've been playing around with the mod, and find it pretty damn amazing! Especially the terminal and quarries. No doubt things will get bigger from this point.
As such, I've tested the router here and there. Pretty much understanding how the filter works, the input and output boxes(the huge screen in the middle) and where to place some routers.

What I don't quite get is how the two Input and Output slot at the top-left section of the router works. Apparently you can input numbers, probably setting the slot which it takes from a container? If anyone or the modder him/herself could shed some light, I'd be verrry grateful.

Another thing that I find is that, each router is limited to one input and output. Is this intended? Or is this where the "input and output slot" function comes in?

Came here looking for an answer to this, would be awesome if someone makes a video showcasing this mod.

I finally got it working. A router only supports one input and output. You add a number for each slot you want the router to take/put items into from the input and output respectively. If there are no slots listed, it will take any item and put the items starting from the beginning of the output container.

EDIT: Also, I've found the router doesn't start working until to set an input and output slot, but you can then remove them if needed.

Pretty much exactly what it does.
I might add the ability to add multiple inputs/outputs
Item filter is pretty much clear to everyone right?

I have played around with it but it still makes no sense to me, could you explain with pictures and text pointing at the steps to take to get it working?
I just want to know- Can you have inputs and outputs from multiple chests/ boxes? I honestly dotn understand why it wont transfer my items from all chests and why it even needs to haev an imput and output, :steamfacepalm::steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:

Oh hell yes, multiple inputs and outputs would be awesome. You could even do different tiers of routers to make it more varied. Say, lower tier routers doesnt support multiple inputs and are slower etc. Just an idea really. Still, amazing work man, can't wait for more

is the router's inventory able to keep food from rotting? i want to use it to put htings into fridges from a garden bot farm, and then at the flip of a switch, dump the fridges into some chests next to a terramart shipment thing

Can multiple routers use the same input? I.E. the ability to use a single inlet and have it automatically go to different boxes based on the item type?

So I was talking with another player with this mod (namely L.), and we came up with an idea to make the router mechanic a little more... palatable. In the router interface, instead of (or preferably, in addition to) being able to name specific items, allow us to also select item tags from a list, so that each item with that tag will be sent to the corresponding box.

Yep would be pretty awesome. The interface is good, but if u add some more functions you should remake it.

I think a rework for routers might be the best way to go for me... they seem to be too confusing right now.

Not Confusing, more like a little bit to much for the small interface u got. Still nice work tho .

Adding some Multiple Inputs and outputs could work just fine.
Maybe a dropdown list to set items in the filter and some easier slot setting would be really great. Just some ideas ...
