For #1, You don't have to remember to throw her out whenever you're around, plus she counts one towards a ship upgrade. Plus you could probably (theoretically) create a whole ship full of AVIAN holograms (lol bring on the AVIAN harem!) Plus she'd probably look and act more normal as a crewmember than as a creature. Plus you could give her a class ability.
Downside is though that you can't take AVIAN on mech-based missions with you (you can unleash AVIAN to bust up a hostile ship for example). Plus it has the usual NPC buggery, and on top of that once AVIAN "dies" you can't recharge her either, you have to go back to the ship and get her. Finally, it might cause problems with AVIAN trying to wear the fugly protectorate suit or might cause problems with the tailor. Plus there'd probably come a point where you'd surpass her in power and she'd become useless. Plus you can't give her collar upgrades.
For #2, I think it's more realistic. Plus you don't have to worry about the Tailor and/or crew system giving her a fugly suit. Plus you can take her with you and call her out when you need it, and recharge her when she gets damaged too much. Probably easier to implement her as a creature as well, but I wouldn't exactly know. Plus you could give her collar upgrades. The obvious downside is that she'd behave like a creature, spastically running about all the time rather than acting like an NPC. Plus there is the issue that she'd only have as much power (and health?) as you have, though that might be an upside as well all things considering.
I'll read through it once I've pushed the next update... hopefully :U
Actually, one general critique was that there was too much dialogue and or talking. I have been trying to come up with a solution to that, to keep both sides happy, but it'll unlikely be in the next update.
But I'd love to have her wandering around my ship.
If that's the case, there is always the light version.
Honestly, if they didn't want an AI with a personality, why bother using this mod at all?
In fact, I'm actually surprised she doesn't say anything at all when you pick up the nudie posters of her.
