Maybe make sandstorm to hurt a little when you are not wearing specific clothing?
The same with hard snowfall or something like that?
First of all, thanks for making this mod! It makes the game a bit more challenging which is a good thing. Current temperature system is far from perfect though and can be confusing at times, especially when experiencing it for the first time.
Second of all, I hope you're doing well and you haven't left Starbound as a game and/or Starbound modding yet - I hope you're still interested in that topic.
Back to the original topic now. I really like your ideas for the new temperature system you were planning to implement. I think it actually make more sense if it was about body temperature instead of environment temperature + exposure. It also seems to be more "casual" than the current one which is what I personally like since I'm really struggling with the current one and find it difficult to "fight" the temperature back.
I have a few things to suggest that could be included in the new system:
- Temperature in mechs should be neutral. Since they protect from various of different things, I think that would make sense for them to also protect from too low or too high temperature.
- EPPs should guarantee stable temperature on hot / cold planets (desert, snowy etc.) if you're not wet, not swimming in liquids, there is no bad weather conditions.
- Surviving on extremely hot / extremely cold planets (volcanic, arctic etc.) WITH EPP should work like surviving on hot / cold planets WITHOUT EPP.
- Drinking hot drinks (like tea or coffee) should heat you up a little bit.
- Drinking pretty much anything else should cool you down a little bit.
- Weather conditions should affect temperature like currently. (I think that's a thing, isn't kit?)
