What people usually miss is that if an industry's input area becomes empty, the production will start to drop after a while. When reaching zero the supply line stops to produce as well. There is a catch 22 moment where the supply line start to oscillate in production. Planes are unreliable in the means that it takes quite some extra time to circle another round if the runway was occupied when landing. Meanwhile the receiving industry may run out of materials. The bigger and faster planes you use, the bigger circle around the airport.

This is why it often doesn't help to increase the number of planes. Best practice is to use the large airport to have separate runways for landing and taking off, but it is hard to place on the map.

I have invited the others to this thread for discussion.

I realize that an industry's input area can empty but I'm seeing a lack of actual use at times. This is usually while there's another line active on said factory. It may be a case of the game choosing to prioritize IT over the airline. I haven't tested my theory yet but I can't help but wonder if it might be the case.

I'll try to illustrate my problem as best as I can:

I'm working on a 1:3 large

First Screenshot
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198024177451/screenshot/108481189092683798

This first screen shot shows a line that works:
1. Airport A [ Forest + Factory ] at the top right corner of the screen
Delivering logs and returning planks to
2. Airport B [ Plank ] at the bottom left corner of the screen

Now the second screenshot
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198024177451/screenshot/108481189092697455

This shows a line that didn't even start to throw its cargo onto the airport at all to start so I can't even get the industry lines to run:
1. Airport A [ Forest + Factory ] is now at the bottom left outside the screen ( its further left from the farm you see, trust me that its there)
Trying to deliver logs and returning planks to
3. Airport C [ Plank ] at the top right corner of the screen

As you can see that the second scenario actually requires a longer distance, which is why I speculate maybe the freight lines are not initiating due to the long travel time it needs to reach its next in line industry OR due to the distance?

There is a bug with the freight airport. It is only working if you have 1 F13 plane on the line. Then the rest can be whatever you like. I have 8 of 757 that work fine, but only if the F13 is also on the line.

I Can confirm this.

I have 2 lines; First line has 3 x 737s delivering goods and construction material one way and food the other way. This has been working without any issues.

Second line has 1 x 757 delivering fuel to the same airport line 1 is delivering to. I could not get this line to start, I tried all different sizes of airports, adding additional 757s (as this is the only one able to carry fuel), but nothing worked.
Then I read the post above, I added 1 x Junkers F-13 and at the 1st of the month, the line connected and everything was working :)

Hello Gwinda, very great Mod, but i have a problem with it.
I can only use the smallest airport of the freight airports, the other dont have a catchment area after i have build it. So i can only run the freight lines with the small airport. Is this a bug or is it a fault of mine? Thanks a lot

It seems to have been some problems after the last Transport Fever update. I have been on vacation and just got home.

Ok. Thanks for the fast reply.

Well, like I said, the industries are NOT producing any kind of freight for the airports, and now a TRUCK has to pick up the freight and move it to the airport, and it is a HAIR away!!

I am having troubles with the terminals. It says "Terminals not properly connected!"

The problem is that the mod works 100% fine here on my installation. I have never seen any of the reported problems. Without being able to reproduce the problem I can't fix it.

So, I have decided to remake it from scratch...

I have posted an update (1.68) that might fix this. I found something in one of the script that might cause this problem randomly.

Just had this issue, 757 delivering crude, wouldnt work no matter what I tried until I read this and added a f13 then i connected right away.

+1 that adding an f13 to the line makes cargo be delivered to the airport, enough to fill up my 757s.

The game works in weird ways, though. When cargo's expensive, companies are unwilling to have you deliver it, which is why without an F.13 people are unwilling to utilise your service. When you add an F.13, the price drops, which means that you finally deliver cargo. However, you're caught in a catch-22 - you can't have too low a price, meaning that you won't be able to afford paying for your jets, but at the same time you can't have a too high price, because nobody will be willing to pay sky-high prices for your delivery by air system.
