Dragon changes and vision for the game
Hi there.

I am starting to do some bigger changes to dragons to make them a bit more unique.
So far it is mostly flavor. The biggest change is that I completely changed the units nomadic dragons have. They are 3 times as strong, but you also receive only 1/3 of the units and population. So in the end it should be the same power wise (actually a bit weaker as dragon nomads have bigger problems overcoming garrisons). Also I am not sure if the AI can handle it. But I have to play for some time to be sure.

Before I continue I want to ask what your vision for dragons is in the game so that I accidentally do something which goes against what you planned. I noticed that the game is very influenced by Dragon Age. Do you want to keep that?

The Dragon cult faith is mirrored loosely by The Dragon Cult of ESO ancient nordic population. If they were dragons instead of men. The religious head and all temple holders should have custom names assigned to them already. As for what i intend to do with dragons, i wanted to see if i could pull them away from horses and give them dragon units, though i have no skill in animation.

I sadly also don't. Art assets are currently a big problem for me (unit icons, etc.).

Here is what I did so far

Check teh Changelog in the root folder and take whatever you want from it.
My idea of dragons is a little bit different from yours. I imagine that nomadic dragons are indeed sigular or rather a group of dragons (your court) who have to rely on magical summonings to have an army. Only when they settle do they assume overlordship over humanoids.

What I plan to do is to make money very important for dragons. It can be used to boost stats and it is a big opinion modifier and also affects prestige gain. And many other decision that cost prestige/faith would cost money in addition for dragons.
At the same time passive money gain for nomadic dragons would be very low as they think only money you fought for (or at the very least scavanged) is good money and they see trading etc. as a sign of weakness.

I am not sure how much of that is actually possible and what I will manage to do though.
Should I continue into this direction or do you have something else in mind?

Progress has been slow thanks to real life workload.

Here is what I plan to implement eventually (no gurantees though as I am not sure everything works out or if I am indeed will make all those changes):

- Followers of the dragon religion gain prestige from being rich and lose prestige when broke.
- Opinion modifier for other dragon religion characters depending on wealth
- Special CB for nomadic dragons to plunder a whole dutchy (if required)
- Nomadic dragons are not able to build silk road trade posts by default
-- A secret society representing "un-dragonlike" cooperation with human(oids) to earn money which would allow you to build and upgrade silk road trade posts with society influence and gold/prestige (suggestions for other abilities and events welcome)
- possible dragon specific weapons/armor humans can't use (they lose access to swords etc. though)
- Decision to consume a lot of money for personal empowerment (health + combat ability) <-- Possible plugin with Enlightement (Ascension if something like this exists in Enlightement)
- Heresy which focuses on knowledge/learning instead of earning money (suggestions welcome)
- Dragon (culture/race) specific tactics which trigger on personal combat score instead of martial ability.

If anything of that goes against your vision please say so.

New update, mainly new uses for gold when you are a dragon (passive and active)
http://www46.zippyshare.com/v/eGgIz2dX/file.html

Next I will add some options to add more ways to gain gold either by war or through societies.

The units are more or less balanced as they are just multiplications of real units. No idea about the dragon trait and decision bonuses, mainly because I do not know if the items with their huge personal combat bonus stay this way.

You thinking of using the marketplaces to trade trade goods? I think the inventory system would work well for that.

Sorry to sort of burst into the flow of this discussion, but what if, by being a member of the "draconic cult", by a certain age or class in the cult, the character could show signs of... transmogrifying or transforming into a draconic-Humanoid?

I could see how difficult that could be to implement...
