Tried this for the first time. Couple issues make it unplayable
So played an Italy game. Pretty traditional route. Some issues:

- Spanish civil war. Communists generate 8x as many units as fascists. It's over in 2 weeks. i cheated and had the fascists annex the country

- German AI. Didn't produce nearly enough planes and didn't upgrade them. Brits were bombing all of the coastal areas as soon as France fell and Germany did nothing about it. Threw off the entire German production logic as all their efforts were focused on repairs. Once the Easter war started and the Americans joined they were bombing all of Germany unchallenged.

- Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria sent no troops to the Eastern Front. Very ahistoric and really hampered Germany

- British AI sent 100 or so divisions to east Africa. Didn't really have anything else to do with them but I never called my Ethiopian puppet to the war so they just sat there. When Japan entered the war I expected them to leave but they say there while Japan took Raj, Malaysia and most of the isles. I didn't build up my forces either, so they outnumbered the Ethiopian forces by 5to1.

- hate the addition of the second channel in the Red Sea. Took the Suez but was still stuck in the med due to the huge buildup in east africa mentioned above

- Not sure if there is an issue with the repair mechanics. Wasn't paying attention and they bombed the alpine region. I couldn't repair any of the damage. For example it would say that I had 3 damage to infrastructure and was 99% complete. Then it would flip to 0% complete of 2 damage, then immediately flip back to 99% complete of 3. So nothing ever repaired. There were no more bombings and its not occupied territories so nothing was damaging them. It removed a ton of factories and docks that I couldn't get back the entire game.

-- While this isn't an error but a design choice, Forts are WAYYYYY too strong. -450% trying to attack Stalingrad? Germany was too dumb and I didn't research that part of the tree for railguns so we were SOL.

-- German advance into Russia fell apart because of --- Couldn't build enough replacements as many factories were destroyed by bombing, couldn't repair infrastructure so AI troops wouldn't advance into Russia, no support from Axis troops, German AI didn't have the equipment to take down forts and we couldn't mass enough troops to power through due to issues above. Not sure if this is on purpose to make it more difficult to play Axis. For human player I could force my troops to advance without enough supplies so that I could punch through a line or encircle then send them back to "safe" areas but German wouldn't do that. Had maybe 30-40 divisions sitting in Poland with the little yellow flag.

So I finished the game. Ended up taking over the soviets --- unlike vanilla you don't have to push to the Urals to win. Take the big 3 cities and it's almost over. So I was closer than I thought.

Japan crushed everyone. Owns Raj and all of the Indies. America did nothing in the pacific.

British/Commonwealth were all about Africa. i fought my way to open up the Red Sea but it's a stalemate. With the AI attritiion bonuses they can park 3-5 motorized and tank divisions per province and I can only put 2-3. So not enough to push against them and was losing an insane amount of troops trying to do so. With the American and British fleets patrolling Africa I can't move troops around so it's not going to change.

As Italy I took North Africa, Iran, Iraq, Yugo, Greece, Arabia. I had befriended Turkey earlier and wish I hadn't. Fascists control all of Asia, mainland Europe and north and East Africa. Not enough navy to take England and the US produces so many planes and ships they are safe.

So it's mid 1943 and the world is a stalemate.

It seems like you used the wrong game version, use 1.9.3 with all DLCs. And not calling your puppets is an exploit, dont complain if you use that. Not sure about the rest, you mention historical things like they were errors, -450% is not physically possible you must be using some other mods.

Well, I guess the message is reinforced from earlier. Play the game the way the mod author wants you to, or don't bother. I got that message loud and clear...

To be clear, it's your mod, you can write it however you want. I just don't want to waste my time with it after that, either.

To be fair I worked with people more on discord and have enjoyed the game more. the issue with the puppets I still don't understand --- is Germany not calling allies an exploit or is calling them an exploit? Either way it was 100 divisions that weren't in the battle. The repair issue is because the game started out with a level of infrastructure that I didn't have the technology to actually build which I think is a little odd. So the province had inf 8 and my technology only allowed me to build to 6, so it kept getting stuck trying to repair from 6 back to 7. Bug I would assume. I looked back at the game and the 450% was hyperbole, I think it was actually 175%. Assume decisions on top of game on top of forts. But the AI couldn't adapt. As a player I knew to expect it so built a few specialized units just for forts.

This is unfortunately only half truth. We are working within the constraints of the game enforced on us and at the same time try to get it as historical ( and reasonable in terms of playability ) as possible, meaning that you need to play "in a certain way". For some its then "railroaded" and for others its acceptable to get that historic immersion ( this mod and probably every other mod is not perfect dont get me wrong ). If you can live with that fine, otherwise yes its wasted time for you.
