So played an Italy game. Pretty traditional route. Some issues:

- Spanish civil war. Communists generate 8x as many units as fascists. It's over in 2 weeks. i cheated and had the fascists annex the country

- German AI. Didn't produce nearly enough planes and didn't upgrade them. Brits were bombing all of the coastal areas as soon as France fell and Germany did nothing about it. Threw off the entire German production logic as all their efforts were focused on repairs. Once the Easter war started and the Americans joined they were bombing all of Germany unchallenged.

- Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria sent no troops to the Eastern Front. Very ahistoric and really hampered Germany

- British AI sent 100 or so divisions to east Africa. Didn't really have anything else to do with them but I never called my Ethiopian puppet to the war so they just sat there. When Japan entered the war I expected them to leave but they say there while Japan took Raj, Malaysia and most of the isles. I didn't build up my forces either, so they outnumbered the Ethiopian forces by 5to1.

- hate the addition of the second channel in the Red Sea. Took the Suez but was still stuck in the med due to the huge buildup in east africa mentioned above

- Not sure if there is an issue with the repair mechanics. Wasn't paying attention and they bombed the alpine region. I couldn't repair any of the damage. For example it would say that I had 3 damage to infrastructure and was 99% complete. Then it would flip to 0% complete of 2 damage, then immediately flip back to 99% complete of 3. So nothing ever repaired. There were no more bombings and its not occupied territories so nothing was damaging them. It removed a ton of factories and docks that I couldn't get back the entire game.

-- While this isn't an error but a design choice, Forts are WAYYYYY too strong. -450% trying to attack Stalingrad? Germany was too dumb and I didn't research that part of the tree for railguns so we were SOL.

-- German advance into Russia fell apart because of --- Couldn't build enough replacements as many factories were destroyed by bombing, couldn't repair infrastructure so AI troops wouldn't advance into Russia, no support from Axis troops, German AI didn't have the equipment to take down forts and we couldn't mass enough troops to power through due to issues above. Not sure if this is on purpose to make it more difficult to play Axis. For human player I could force my troops to advance without enough supplies so that I could punch through a line or encircle then send them back to "safe" areas but German wouldn't do that. Had maybe 30-40 divisions sitting in Poland with the little yellow flag.
