1 thing, the French flag that the devs use is actualy the personal flag of Phillipe Petain. It was not the national flag, the national flag did not change. This is of course if your going for complete historical accuracy

Historically, at least in The Americas, the Fascist parties were openly pro German Nazi and used the swastikas, as well as took the liberty of inserting the swastikas into the national flag as in some German American Bund examples. I like that you are trying to add a more historic flair to the game and hope that perhaps you could make a secondary mod where we see swastikas more prominently in Fascist nations and the hammer and sickle in the Communist ones.

the only prominant American national socialist movements were in America and Canada. Most south and central American "fascist" politics were more aligned to Falangist and Conservative/Catholic rhetoric than National Socialist ideals. Historicaly the USA and Canada would and did have Swastikas on their national and party flags but no other major American fascist party would have featured Swastikas on their flags.

The Japanese flag is wrong, it should have the rising sun flag, red sun with rays, otherwice it's a nice mod

I will repeat what I said to battleship101. The reason the current fascist flag is the Hinomaru is because that is what the state used until the end of WW2 and the rising sun flag is officially the Imperial Japanese Navy and the Imperial Japanese Army's flag with the IJA having their sun disk centered instead. For this mod it focuses on using historical state and national flags and that is why I am not using the Rising Sun Flag

Just discovered the mod and would really suggest changing the flags for Germany.
Democratic Germany as in the Weimar Republic before the rise of the nazis simply had the German tricolor as a flag. So I would suggest that for a democratic Germany.

The flag currently used for a democratic Germany was only used since 1949 by West Germany (which can be created seperatly in the game already). Same goes for the communist flag which has only been introduced in 1949 as flag of East Germany.

A better version for a communist Germany would be a flag that is just all red as it was used in the German revolution of 1918 and by all communist movements since then. Alternatively you could add some hammer & sickle or similar symbols to it.

I don't really have much of a suggestion for a neutral Germany flag, but considering neutral means not democratic or at least not western, I'd suggest maybe the black-white-red tricolor of the German Reich until 1918 or another version of German flag which has been used until the end of the Second German Reich.

Labargoth I dont follow on your first part because I am using the German Tricolor, for the communist I will say that the reason I am using the DDR flag is becuase it was offically used by the state also everything in game is based of it so it makes sense however once I finish my update for ModdB I will include the hammer and sickle option but for steam it will remain as the historical version. For the neautral I am going to change it to the Imperial tricolor because I feel it would suit more but to me until they make neutral factions do something it wont be a huge priority at the moment. However it is not historical. A socialist state before the second world war wouldn't have used that version. There was no socialist German state until 1949 which could have used that flag. It's like using the current day China flag for Mao's China in the base game.

Larbargoth I understand that there is nothing before 1949 but since that is the case I went with the most historical and what HOI4 set up. I understand you may not prefer it but I am aiming to keep flags as close to what they were with me using non-state flags as a last resort. But I will tell you that I have included the flag of the KPD in the upcoming update for ModdB as an alternative flag but this is taking me a bit since it is time-consuming to replace each flag.

I didnt word that well basically I am trying to say is I would rather us a flag that was utilised by a state even if it is outside of the timeline so that it is at least somewhat historically accurate but in these games when nations like Angola and Libya can be created within the time frame I feel I can use some creative liberties because of its alternative history view

This is the french vichy flag, maybe u can add it for French fascism ( because they re not real french fascist flag )

Well technically ßµ | Pope Penis II is correct about it not being the state flag however I wanted to trial replacing it with the standard french flag however I might change it back depending on the reception it recieves

They were the prevailing fascist party in Belgium through most of the 30's. The Rexists were not a popular party prior to the Nazi invasion and were really just a provisional puppet government. Also Degrelle's Rexists were more of a Wallonian nationalist party where as Verdinaso was more true to the unitary bilingual Belgian identity. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
