- Clear mod list and added one by one. The maximum number that I get is 39, but then it’s stop working even after removing some mods.
- Clear Config folder in AppData and check for integrity in Steam
- Delete all Saves
- Unsubscribe to all 1.4 mods
- Regular delete and reinstall the game and mods via Steam
- Delete and reinstall the game and mods data and configs via RimPy
- Delete the game, delete “RimWorld by Ludeon Studios*”* folder in AppData, delete \steamapps\common\Rimworld (and the “*workshop\content\294100”* was already gone after uninstalling). Reinstall.
- Restart the PC after each of the above (except the first one).
- Run Steam and the Game in compatibility mode with Windows 8 (I’m using 10) and as an administator. Also Disable fullscreen optimization. With this even the base mods don’t work.
- If I used a Windows Defender, I would also add the game to the exceptions - but I don't.
- In Prepatcher remove one or few random mods before the main loading.
- Using RimPy for testing and log analyzing.
Maybe some of this will work for you.
And also, the method that helped me get to the menu (at least half of the time), but not playing the game - can’t generate a world or pawns or location or something else. But here is the method:
1. Start the game and Prepatcher (of course you will have to add and activate it)
2. Open the Windows Task Manager, find the Rimworld.exe process
3. RMB → Set Affinity → Deselect all except Cpu 0 → Apply
4. Go back to the game and Launch
So yeah, in the end I'm just trying to build a modlist without HugsLib and XML Extensions (yes, it is also have this problen).
Check out my new solution bro
Well, it's been almost 2 months - I haven’t touched the game during this time, maybe the problem with HugsLib has already been resolved.
Regarding your solution, I have a 2556x1440 screen resolution, so it’s clearly not my case. Nevertheless, thanks for the info!
I was having critical error on 100% fresh Rimworld. The only active mods were Harmony, HugsLib, Dubs Perf. Analyzer, Perfomance Optimizer and Rocketman. World generation bugs, black screen bug, crashes. After setting up compatibility mode and turning fullscreen mode in the game the worldmap finally loaded correctly. Gonna test everything futher and try the DPI setting solution too. Thanks, man
