Epic Encounters: Origins (EE2) Beta is live!
This is not currently on the workshop because it is intended to be a somewhat-sort-of on the DL beta. Share it with your friends/family, leave us your feedback and in a couple weeks(months)-or-so we will be on the workshop.

Alright everyone, here is a link to the first beta version. Also, join this Discord server I made if you want, because why not?
I hope you guys have fun with the project, and please leave us as much feedback as you like--good or bad--we expect to tweak quite a bit as a result of this beta.

The standalone project is much larger, this is pretty much all code and stats, so not a huge DL.

Play on whatever difficulty you like; the game will be harder than the unmodded game, but the intent is not to make it quite as impossible as EE1 was--optional mod patches can do that for us in the future :)

Standalone project its with new bosses and areas? He coming when Larian will give the go-ahead?

Standalone project is something else entirely, It's not going to be ready for a while; we aren't working with Larian on this.
Morning person seems to not work in that it does not give prepared when going first on round 1. It also gives some random wierd string popup. Something like 'amer_initiative_prepared_0'.

Thanks! I'll look into it
This is more design then bug so I'm not sure if belongs here or in other thread. Is there a way to make skill books and only skill books less expensive? I noticed in the readme gold would be overall harder to come by which is fine normally, but having a hard time just getting all of your skills seems more frustrating then anything. Maybe thieving was nerfed? Not sure if EE did that or base game did it. I only ever played through once right when vanilla came out.

Thieving is probably a little nerfed to due gold costs going up. I was skeptical of early book costs too, you think they may need to be taken down further?
It might be fine for the second and third tier where I suspect players can fairly quickly get a full kit of skills by foregoing items but it hurts in fort joy where hybrid builds have a hard time getting going. Especially when the player lacks full control over what skills the 3 other party members start with.

Fair enough, I can agree with reducing the cost of the starter-tier.
