Run speed is increased in Epic Encounters very significantly vs. vanilla. Also monster movement speed in combat (the animation) is greatly increased, so things like zombies will sprint up to you and attack rather than forcing you to wait a year while they shuffle up. Unfortunately some other animations are still a little slow--nothing we can really do there.
Personally I never felt a need to mess with the bags in my play; however, Smarmbot's XC_Encounters combines Epic Encounters with FrauBlake's XC_Bags giving you more inventory management/sorting options and a further expanded crafting system in addition to the heavy rebalancing that EE offers.
As a general rule this mod is incompatible with any other mod that you can get on the Steam workshop (D:OS will only activate one workshop mod at a time.) This mod will also be incompatible with any mod that attempts to change the same game elements. You can stack this mod with mods from say Mod Nexus, but only if they do not alter the same things.
Thanks again for making such a great overhaul, and getting me excited about this game. Anytime i load up an rpg with hopes of modding it, I'll typicaly spend more time trying to get this ideal version or expectation of what the experience could be to me that may or may not exist, then end up spending more time fiddling with it rather than playing the game until i lose interest. So an all in one overhaul like this is perfect for people like me
As for the respec:
"'Akara's Awakening' is a new potion that can be purchased in Cyseal, starting at level 5, from Shereth. It is the same as Sourcehunter's Adaptation in that it respecializes the character, but, unlike the former, will require gold to purchase."--from the readme.
Google and the Wiki probably will not answer many of your EE questions, but Sandpie has written stupendous patch notes and a readme thicker than the Bible. You'll find links to these on the description page of this mod. They are worth a scan if for nothing else than to get a detailed comparison of this mod to vanilla D:OS.
