Suggestions Page
Feel free to Suggest New Races, Changes, or anything else here! I cant promise i can do it all but Ill do what i can =) As always at the end of the day I am bound by what our admin wants for the Racial stats and otherwise. However if there is good reason to make adjustments i am happy to look into it and make changes (Such as what Theik suggested with the Orcs)

Current Requests I have had and plan to look into
-Undead Race
-Small Model changes to give the races more personality

gnomes would be awesome, ones that have expert crafting abilities, and stealth. not sure if the stealth is something that can be written in though

I've had a TON of fun on an RP server using your mod! It provides excellent flexibility for the races, and we've had a lot of great RP interactions using it.

One thing that's come up a couple times in our Discord is ents! Tree-people, woodfolk, some kind of plant-based race; I was spitballing racial powers and came up with a few ideas:

- Regen food or health during the day (via photosynthesis)
- Damage reduction (thick bark)
- Movespeed reduction (trees don't move very fast...)
- Bonus stamina?
- Increased aggro from aggressive herbivores (trees are delicious) but decreased aggro from carnivores?
- Increased stealth when standing still?
- Extra damage from fire?

About the orc's 10% damage reduction: some small math I did trying to convert the damage reduction into increased armor rating so it is more straightforward to see the difference:
a) when the orc is not wearing armor rate (AR), the damage reduction offers 11 AR;
b) when in a full primitive flak which has 500 AR as base, the dmg reduction offers 66 AR;
The higher the AR the more significant this reduction affects.
Not sure about other servers that enjoy this mod, but assuming they are primitive to fit the RP, it will be very hard to kill a geared orc plus their health generation.

P.S. : Why is pegomast mammal?

It reminded me of a rat to be honest lol. also yea their hp regen got a huge knock down due to the issue of not being able to die if they were captured so i tried to compensate them with the DR value instead

With the most recent update it seems that WildCard removed the swim speed increase from the Oxygen stat. This makes Oxygen much less useful, as a few points in Oxy and a Lazarus Chowder are pretty much all you need, even on primitive servers.

This change affects Merfolk (kinda), Goblins (quite a bit) and Humans (somewhat). Do you have any plans on adjusting stats in response to this debuff?

Ahh to be honest i was wondering what changed that was messing up the swim speeds. I have been extreemly busy and just had time to edit the mod recently so this is actually a super helpful post haha. there is another way to affect swim speed so ill probably add some small/medium buffs to them that way (and test to make sure the patch doesnt also remove that speed ajustment) ill mention it in the next patch notes section weather that works or not

also random but the plant race sounds fun and very doable so ill look into that some as well =)

So looks like yes, currently i can still change speed another way. that said it is just a flat adjustment to speed that cant be increased. It may get some tweaking to the specific numbers as we go but this should make merfolk playable/viable again. Also i should mention we dont use the scuba flippers on our server... so the numbers are adjusted based on that. If you put flippers on a merfolk now im not sure how fast it would actually make them.

Hello, loving the mod so far, it adds a lot to Ark :)

I wanted to suggest giving humans more of a niche away from being a baseline, more on being hardy and resilient. Some examples of a similar discussion on this: http://www.ongoingworlds.com/blog/2014/11/human-roleplay-characters-are-boring/

Maybe give humans a significant stamina boost/regen, similar to the Iguanodon. IMO humans should also have a quicker health regneration than the other races (Orcs could have more strength attributes).

Maybe add a structure the admin can spawn where the different race bloods can be crafted. Probably with the option to pin lock it if you want to keep it around but don't want anyone to just go and make themselves more blood and race remover.

@Ralthiera not a bad idea on the stam regen ill look into that =) and your right the whole exhaustion hunting thing with humans and all. pretty interesting stuff

Trolls seem to get a lot without any draw backs. So just some suggestions. Perhaps they consume more food and water due to their size. I don't picture trolls to be the best sprinters so maybe an ever so slight decrese in movement speed. Though I picture them being horrible swimmers, perhaps having a massive speed reduction in water.

It'd also make sense for them being able to carry more, but in turn perhaps be a lot slower at crafting things as trolls are not known as craftsmen nor are they very dexterous.

I love how the merfolk is so specialized, it sorta changes what you focus on and how you play to some extent. I can see the troll being like that also! Thank you for this mod!
KytchenCynk 27 Apr, 2017 @ 10:08pm
i think they had trolls that way so that it can be an event type thing, you pit an army vs a tribe of trolls
CorruptedChaos  [developer] 28 Apr, 2017 @ 10:33am
@KytchenCynk yes, that is correct. Its not intended to be a PC char (at least for us). To be honest they can survive naked in freezing temps without eating and do not gain torpor fast enough for this to make them pass out.
