A few fixes are needed.
I really like this character, and so far I've discovered few bugs:
  • If Teddy holds a respawn trinket or passive item such as "Missing Poster" or "Judas' Shadow", them won't work. (you'll get the death screen instead of the respawn)
  • It seems like eternal hearts can be picked up. Even if them can't increase your health, you'll see a piece of the eternal heart on top of your health container.
  • It doesn't matter if you get hit, devil deals percentage won't decrease.
  • If you activate your active item, it will kill you. (actually it makes sense since it will run out of charges, and Teddy can't live without those)

Anyway, I like the new unique gameplay this character brings on.

3 - Batteries are actually soulhearts, so this character behaves as "???"
4 - Thats the point! Item description is actually: "Do NOT remove it"

@Update:
Extra Live items working perfectly!
Eternal hearts can be picked up but won't do anything
Using the active item won't kill you, but will leave you with no health! So use it carefully!

Fun fact: now respawn items work, but every time you'll respawn you'll have Teddy's head instead of the character's you are suppoused to respawn as.

Using "Teddy's Battery" will not kill you, but if you will pick up a passive item when your character will have no health, it will die.
What about reducing Teddy's health to only half battery when it activates its item to prevent this from happening?

Was it a choice to make devil deals free?
I guess it will be more interesting if they would at least subtract the necessary charges for taking them.
Right now Teddy has 4 health containers, for a total of 8 charges, so it would be more balanced if instead of taking all devil deals for free, you could chose only one item per devil deal at the cost of 3 heart containers, subtracting 6 charges from "Teddy's Battery".

And what about a synergy with "The Battery"?
It would be very good in terms of survivability, because it lets you stock energy, so "Teddy's Battery" would be able to reach 16 charges instead of 8, allowing the character to have 8 heart containers instead of 4.


Anyway, it's good to see how much you care about improving your mod and how fast you take the feedbacks.

1 - Yeah, i left that on purpose, because, well, why not? Is a cool teddybear head, right?

2 - That was on purpose too. Thinking about the character, if its batery is really low, than it can work. Badly but it can. On the other hand, if you remove the battery, it will die.

3 - Well, this one is kinda a choice. I couldn't make it at the start, but then i thought that Teddy is a toy, he doesn't have a soul, so deals with devil should be free (I might chage that, but idk)

4 - I'm trying this, but still W.I.P

It seems like there's a problem with the HUD Offset.
If its values are changed, the active item will overwrite Teddy's healthbar.

@Update:
  • "Dagaz" removes "Curse of the unknown", so after its use, soul hearts are visible over the energy healthbar.
  • Even if Teddy starts with "Technology", it won't be taken out from the item pool, so you will still be able to find it in treasure rooms. By taking it, Teddy will gain double technology fire.
