To help us understand the issue more fully, can you point us to instances of this harsh trolling that is driving authors away from the Workshop? Are there specific comment threads we can see as examples of this?

Comment blocking should be public now (If you view someone's profile, click 'Block All Communications' in the right column). Those blocked users won't be able to comment on any of your workshop items.
