i have a rather large modpack, so there are some other mods in the stack traceback but i had removed them previously and it did not seem to have any effect.
Compatibility with betabound isn't necessary, but if it would not consume the item and not kill tonuac that would be great.

Sorry for the super late reply, but there are two things that may cause this:
1) tanuac is not near a container, or near multiple containers.
- if you have a mod that changes how the outpost is laid out, where Tonauac isn't near a conainer anymore, or they are near multiple containers. In vanilla they are only next to one container, so the code only searches for that. If this is the case, try adding your food to the closest container to the npc.
- if there are no containers within 15 "units" from the npc, it will never be found. Removing the mod that changes the outpost will fix this. (not ideal, but I cannot keep querying the world recursively until I find a container without it seriously affecting the game, which is a big nono)
2) The food provided is not set up in a way that aligns with how vanilla food items are set up
- that is, it does not spoil, (item.parameters.timeToRot does not exist). This is important for this mod as its kind of a quick and dirty method to determine if what is placed in the container is a food type or not as that parameter should only be filled out if its a food. I do not know if your modded food doesn't spoil, but not providing it at all is kind of breaking what the game expects.
