Fair enough. I assume it wasn't though, since many people are acting like they've been directly insulted by the TF2 team or something, and empty claims like this can easily be regarded as false as a result.

You can also look up the creator on Facepunch. He has posted several stuff there too so there's that.

Valve obviously did this as a quick-fix to copyright until they can come up with an ACTUAL hat.
