Rim of Madness - Arachnophobia
Feeding bug
Apperently tamed spiders (At least giant ones) will hunt prey, wrap said prey, but not feed on it. This creates a logic loop-hole where the spider A.I starts a never ending process of hunting and wrapping because it's starving to death.

The solution i found to this was to send a colonist out and open up the wrapped prey. The issues here are many. If the spiders unwrapped dinner is still alive, this will start a LONG process of the spiders A.I bugging out and dealing small amounts of damage to said prey before they rewrap them, if the spiders food is dead when you unwrap it, the corpse has to be moved to the designated area for your giant spiders if they aren't restricted.

Also, within the description for the spiders it's said that they will go hunting for their meal, wrap it then return the wrapped meal to a "Den". Domesticated spiders don't seem to have this trait, you end up with a sea of freshly wrapped boars scattered across the map.

Personally, i like the aspect of the spiders hunting on their own, nothing else does that in the game. I also like the idea of them dragging their prey back to an area you designated. So, i'd rather not see domesticated spiders lose those traits if it can be avoided.

Another bug, and the reason i mention this is because "milking" spiders for their silk is a planned feature, is that when a colonist goes to open-up the cocoons, they are constantly rewarded with silk. The problem here is the spiders A.I bugs out when it sees this. If you send a colonist to unwrap the cocoon and what ever was wrapped is still alive, the spider will then return to rewrap it which can then be opened up again. This creates an infinite supply of spider silk.

The easiest solution to fixing this problem would also be an immersive one. in the real world spiders can't create an infinte supply of silk, my suggestion would be to create some sort of meter that shows the player how much silk the spider has in it's glands to use before it has to rest.

Another small request would be to allow for a skilled trainer to command the spider to lay their traps in certain areas, to act as a low-tech effective trap to keep away the nasty creatures and thin out the raiders numbers during a raid without every raider aggroing on your spiders.

These are fantastic ideas and ive also had the issue with nonstop feeding/wrapping by my tame spiders and it was driving me crazy. Hope the mod creator sees this.

If it still hasn't been fixed, I wouldn't bother with trying to tame them. It's possible Jec can't fix it, but with as many mods he has (And no doubt more coming.) so fixing this legacy bug is likely sitting on the backburner. You could look around on the Ludeon forums. It's possible someone already fixed it, or if not you could ask around and see if another modder, who has access to the code for this mod, could fix it.

I'm annoyed this still happens sometimes.
