[OBSOLETE] Planetary Cargo Ships
Making a ship pack questions.
i live this mod and really liek suing ti however the default ships that spawn with the only apck i can find for this (air traffic) are only suitable for single player it seems (imean there a bit laggy and im on what could eb calssed as a hgiher end gaming rig), no problem howeevr, becouse the mods are speerate (i presume that was the intention) one cousl simply make there own pack for this, which is what i am doing, however i haev some questions in regard to funcionality.

1- if a ship doesnt have a remote controll block and/or cockpit will it still spawn? however this spawn amy not be level.

2- do i have to set it to the pritae faction befor saving it? (i presume not but worth asking)

3- if a ship decents below 150mt and becomes a dormant ship (or becomes dormant by any other means) is it sill affected by the despawn timer? (you meantioned the timer only affecting active cargo ships however since a dormant ship isnt yet nabbed by a player neecsarily one would be led to think thered still be a timer on it, if atleast a longer timer.)

the reason i ask is while making said ship-pack i was thinking to use this to spawn temporary static structures, this way theyd desapwn after some time yet . im aware you have a mod that adds sapwning of surface structures (with the coexisting structures ebing a bit laggy in my opinion again), however those structures appear to not have any despawn timer or self cleanup beyond a amount limit. the idea being simple structures that tie in with cargo ship spawns, parashute down (which should self-right them) and sit there for a bit befor despawning, as a hazard or a bonus.

Here's the answers to your questions:

1. Ships can still spawn if they do not have a remote control block. However, after spawning, they will be ignored by the mod afterwards.

2. The faction will be set to SPRT automatically, so you don't need to do anyhting extra unless you want to use a custom NPC faction.

3. Ships will only become dormant if the despawn waypoint is removed from the Remote Control block. Once a player owns a block on that grid, or if the grid goes below the 150m mark, then the mod will no longer track that grid. However, the 150m number can be adjusted via the Configuration File by changing the <MinimumPathAltitude> value. Setting it to something like -50 would basically elimanate the altitude check.

so i can make deployable structues via this, however ill have to edit your mod en post (no prob on my end) or have to use another cleanup script. righty then, thanks for the info on the remote controll aswell, ill chuck some in somewhere and just remove thruster controll (in the case fo floating platforms and the such)
