This looks amazing, new enemies yeah:) Also you mention that you plan to do more advent enemies, may i give ideas for two:
Advent paladin: This advent soldier has a riot shield (like conventional real life police forces) with a pistol as a primary weapon, they serve as more of a support/advance unit where it has an ability called raise shield which makes full cover for them. Not only that but regular advent could get behind the paladin and use them as mobile full cover. (Useful if cover is scarce).
Advent spec ops: An Uber elite shock trooper from the advent coalition. They have custom (mod made) night vision goggles and faceguard with a standard rifle/shotgun (or a modded badass looking gun:) . They could have abilities like 1x flashbang grenade, mark target, return fire, grapple hook etc.
I mean these are just suggestions if you want to use these ideas. The hunter rifle looks awesome by the way, bravo:)
I'll try and have useful balance comments sometime soon, just starting the process of purging LW2 from my installation so that I can actually play with these in all their glory.
So, instead of simply naming these aliens as "elite" or chosen or any of those types of names, I came up with the following: ElderGuard.
This name implies an elite bodyguard unit for the ethereals themselves, therefore you will only find the best of the best that the aliens have to offer here.
Here are some ideas for the enemy names and gear/appearance
-ElderGuard Savant: This will be your super sectoid. For their appearance you can give them a slimmer sectoid version of the psi armor from EU/EW, armor would be black and their eyes would be red/orange like the sectoid commander from EU/EW. The hard part of making this guy I predict to be the armor mesh.
-ElderGuard Mastermind: This will be your super sectoid commander. Design is roughly the same as the savant, but they would use the double brained head from the lws sectoid commander. Armor would also have a red/orange glow in the chest area, to simulate the glowing "heart" of the sectoid commander.
-ElderGuard Praetorian: This would be your super muton. For it I would try and recreate the look of the muton elite from EU/EW. Gold and red armor with a custom helm. Doesnt have to be the exact same look as the muton elite though, you can put your own twist to it.
-ElderGuard Goliath: Super Berserker. Basically an x2 berserker with power armor. Color could be an imposing black color for the armor with red lights, but ultimately up to you. Main strenght of the unit would be massive hit points and armor points due to the armor, a mindshield and stronger melee.
-ElderGuard Devoted: Your super viper. https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/43xoo0/armoured_viper_by_lethal_doors/
Something like this would be perfect. If the sliding faceplate is too hard to do, just make them unable to use tongue pull and make them hardcore snipers.
I have some more ideas for the rest of the aliens, but Ill start out with these. Letme know what you think!
Those sound like really cool ideas, especially your ideas for sectoids. Having sectoids with slim alien jumpsuits and light psi armour rather than just fighting naked dudes in vanilla will be a breath of fresh air:) Your right about berserkers, the game needs an armored variant.

Well, what i can tell you is that power armored berserk is something l always wanted to do, kinda like the armored trolls from LoTR and that Sectoid Mastermind is a name that i had in my head for a while. Pretty good ideas, because they are similar to mine lol. I'll be reading this, but just remember that alien mods wont come until Advent is done, which will take months and months.
@Kravis:
That's a pretty cool picture, that's pretty much what i would've expected the Advent Priest from the Expansion to look like, instead of looking like a stunlancer with a cardboard box on his head.
I am exremely glad that you liked my ideas. Most modders I know would have dismissed them as too crazy or ambitious, but I am glad that you thought differently.
And yep, the aliens wont be coming soon, gotta get those advent out of the door first. Waiting akso gives you time for the expansion to come out and make the necessary changes.
Oh, also one thing about your tier 4 advent. I dont think chosen is a title that they should have. How about "Perfected"? My reasoning on this is that the Ethereals give the chosen title to their champions or prized servants. Advent are disposable troops of little value to them, so they wouldnt get the chosen title.
And will you make t4 vanilla advent aswell?(captains, troopers, lancers, mecs, you know the drill).
I have also been brainstorming for some more super aliens. If you want I can put it all on a fancy document and send it you.
It was in quite early game, so that might be a reason but i feel like they nearly completely removed the standard Advent Troops and Officers, and that is not how i feel it should work.
But great mod over all :)
Now you can turn around and sell them to the black market for $140 a peice. That's a $100 profit for every rifle.
