Nioh 3
Pre-order bonuses?
So, if you play completely thru the demo, isn't there a high probability that you will be out-leveled for all the pre-order gear?

There's a chance on that, yes. But a lot of the gear is also for appearance use so you can still get millage out of it.

If it's like the previous titles, the special gear is only used for about 10 levels at most anyways so not much of a duration.
Hmm I wonder if I still get my pre-order bonus stuff, I bought the pre-order sale from new egg which came out to under $60 USD after tax.
Quickly outleveling the starting gear is a "flaw" in every Nioh game.

As mentioned, it's for appearance and some years down the line will be somewhat limited edition and people will notice you're wearing the preorder armor in co-op.
You can always craft a new set of the pre-order gear for your current level. If you don't like the weight or the gear stats, you can transmog it now in Nioh 3.

If Newegg listed it as a preorder you should get an additional code when you receive the game containing the preorder content. At least that's how I've seen it work in the past.

Ok good to know, I usually don't purchase any games away from steam but a $15 savings sounded worth the trouble. I am still waiting to see when they plan to send the key to redeem on here. So if they do provide an additional code for the pre-order stuff I am assuming I don't have to redeem before launch in order for steam to recognize it as a pre-order?

A preorder key can be redeemed at any point to claim the rewards, but I wouldn't normally expect to see the codes sent until 2 days early at most. Sometimes they don't come until just a few hours before release which screws with having access to pre-downloads. For those who bought Starfield through Newegg, they got their codes the day of the early access release, so no pre-download option before hand

Ok, so if I'm lucky ill get something today or tomorrow but if not it should still arrive before launch. Sounds good to me, I managed to avoid that new price that I am still not a fan of haha. Either way I appreciate all this info.

Pre-ordering is perfectly fine if the person is willing to take on the risk for the game. Please keep your opinions stated as such rather than demand. The demo for this game is more then enough evidence imo that pre-ordering this title is fine.

I pre-order a lot of games because I want the bonuses and know I will play the game on day 1. And so far, I have yet to have a game flat out not work or that I didn't reach an acceptable level of value for myself in the end, despite all the people who claim they can't launch X game or have supposed game breaking bugs they have that I never see.
The initial set you get will probably be replaced pretty quick but the game's website says that the preorder/deluxe edition gear can drop from enemies and NPCs in NG+ (assuming you own the bonuses). So it should be possible to find better versions.

You can see what I mean if you go here and scroll down: https://teamninja-studio.com/nioh3/us/products/

I almost never preorder these days either.

I only make an exception IF a decent length demo is supplied, I enjoy the demo AND the game runs well. This game met all 3 criteria for me, so yes I preordered.

If a game lets me play through first chunk of content with no restrictions and I have a good time, there's no reason I shouldn't preorder as I know what I'm buying.

Yes, also I gotta say, the reward equipment is almost always heavy armor that I'll never use anyway. I want equip load below 30% lol

Only reason I preordered is because of slight discount from current retail and because I know DLC will be epic (Nioh DLC always is major bang for buck), and the fact I'm definitely not going to hold off years to play the sequel to my favorite game franchise in the hopes of a lower price later. Would never pre-order for the armor bonuses though, that ♥♥♥♥ practically never matters.

Although I suppose we should concede, some may change the appearance of their armor to look like the pre-order bonus equipment and avoid the weight issues, so there is some slight benefit if you like the look I guess.
