I was able to load them just fine and play via a lobby from one map to the next until the final map.
I wish there was a simpler way and i don't even know if this is a correct way of doing this..
I have a bit of a question on this bit.
I am currently thinking about separating my campaign. But I do not know if I have to change the endings on the maps to load the workshop window (like in Portal 2) or wheter I leave the map as it is and via scripts or something the game will start loading the next workshop file.
EDIT. I have just realized my campaign is smaller than 200 MB (The vpk is 145). I will not have to divide my campaign. Still, if someone knows the answer, it would be nice to know.
Players would have to subscribe to each vpk, but ideally the campaign parts should be made into a collection so they can just subscribe to that. You shouldn't have to do anything different to the vpks to make them work seamlessly together, but there's still some work ongoing to make sure that's the case.
Also adding two parts will i need to create them under the same name each upload or should i name the parts ie (downtown dine_1; downtowndine_2) ect...
btw still can't upload the files error writing to steam cloud..
That's the idea, yes.
At Gshock, that would be pretty nice to have. If we could link workshop items, and when users subscribe to one, a window tells them its part of a whole and asks if they want to susbcribe to all the other items. If the player presses now, a message that says "This item my not work as fully intended due to its missing susbcription to workshop items". Although, I don't know what the guys at Valve have planed.
Regarding dependencies between workshop items, that is a feature that has been discussed for the future, but doesn't currently exist. Collections are the closest thing we have to that right now.
in the update that was going to be released yesterday will it also address the issue with uploading files? I still can't upload my full campaign with it split up. Each vpk is less than 200Mb (181MB and 177MB).
It still gives me an error
"Fail to write file(path to my vpk) to Steam Cloud! Please verify the filename and try again."
Thanks.
