Pull lights away from the targets so the polys don't corrode in reaction.

Use different camera lenses (FOVs) and positioning to achieve a better mood.

Lighting is simple, but that comes to people over time. Learn what the sliders do so you can use them to greater effect.

Specifically in the case of the topmost picture, decrease the camera FOV and pan in a bit. There's too much empty space around the room, and not enough focus on the subject.

The "max" poly count on an individual model is approximately 50,000 tris/polys. Anything beyond that on a single model will massively, massively lag your SFM. Optimize your model and bodygroup.
