I think I'd like to give the next competition a panels theme. Everything is allowed, panels are a must. Panels means angled panels or tilt panels (or any moving panel built in Hammer). At least two panels must be used and both panels must be an integral part of exiting the chamber. For instance make a funnel or a lightbridge hit a panel, or exit a panel for that matter. Or use it for flinging or in case of a tilt panel just for teleporting etc. Any further questions? ;)

I really didn't expect to win this one. Thanks for all those votes!!! I'm a bit clueless as to what the theme of the next competition should be. I'll think about it a little ...

Yeah, yeah, yeah ... my bad ;) Unfortunately I get carried away with other stuff than P2LC some time.

1. Basically, yes. Depends on the specifics of the competition.
2. Too hard may not be the right choice of words ... I'd rather say too time-consumming but essentially you could say that the theme was too hard.
3. No. A longer period of time would only be interesting for me if there was a definite number of mappers that commit to submitting a map for the challenge. In that case, one might go ahead and pick a theme that can take up to half a year. But generally I don't think that a mapping contest should take more than a month.
4. No real ideas yet ... :( A possibility I see is to use custom elements like on the bottom right corner of VDC. Or work with rotating entities? Reading Gemarakup's answer, I agree that the rules shouldn't be too strict ... but I definitely think there could be a contest for single portal gun or purely automated portals.

I know, I know ... only three votes but I had to put DeathWish808 somewhere in there for the best method to increase portal count. Had me laughing a lot ;)

@DeathWish808: Yes! The only further clarification that I would give is that the cube resting on the lightbridge has to be part of the puzzle. So it wouldn't count just to build a chamber with a cube on a lightbridge from beginning to end. Putting the cube on the lightbridge or removing it from the lightbridge has to change something towards the solution of the puzzle.

@Stagger Lee: Don't know? "Cube on Lightbridge" would be my first idea ... ;)

I thought about the next challenge for some time now. I came to the conclusion that I want it to be a rather open competition so that the amazing creativity in this group is not really restricted by it. So here's my suggestion:

Build a map with any number and kind of puzzles. The only requirement is that in order to exit the chamber a cube has to physically rest on a lightbridge sometime during the puzzle.
