[POLL] Adding a Donation System
Now I know what you are thinking.. "What would the contest need a donation system for? how do we know this is not just some way for the hosts to get money?" First I want you to hear me out.

As some of you may know, we get the prize games from Humble Bundle, a charity organization that uses the money to help feed people in third world nations, as well as a few other things. So when we get our games we are also giving back a little something.

Usually we only pay a dollar for three small games.. but what about the good stuff? And so I propose a prize donation system. In HB the more you pay the higher level games you can unlock, some of them triple A games. So if you want to try and better your chances at getting a good prize game we want to add the option to donate any amount of money to a pot that will be used by the contest hosts to better the contest content... lots of Cs in that sentence.

Of course there may be some trust issues for some people as the donation would go to a PayPal account. It is ok to not trust us, you just don't have to donate. I thought this would be a good way for someone to contribute to the contest even if they are not able to be a part of it. It will also allow us to have some phenomenal prizes to give out! Who knows, with word of a possible free triple A game to be had we will have a lot more people join us! Also, being that the hosts have to pay out of our own pocket means you would really be helping us out.

Anyway, that is my thoughts on the matter. If you are interested or have something to say please do so in the comments.

To be completely fair, I don't think most people enter these contests for the prizes. It's more the experience that's valued. Maybe that's just me though. I do think that these contests could run without the prizes. Just an idea.

There are a suprising amount of 'Maybes'.

In that case it will be up to the hosts to add it or not.

Well, then I guess that's what's gonna happen then, because the voting is nearly unanimously 'Maybe.' It just surprises me that I'm one of only two people to vote yes.

I think its a good idea, I would also be ok with the judges and organizers getting something for all the time they put into it. I always feel greatful to those who put in the time and effort for us all to have fun here. Thanks to all who make this contest possible. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

I think most players DO create things for the challenge, because the prizes aren't great. Don't get me wrong, the only reason I started participating is becase of the challenge. On the other hand, I didn't begin submitting my creations until Keen started participating in the prize pool. Not all of the SE community is going to put their projects on pause for a contest unless it's clearly worth the time.
