Set rules for contests.
I'd like to see official set rules for all the contests, incuding:

-What way size restrictions will work, weather based on a set area or volume or whatever.

-Official ship classifications, roles, etc. (probably the UESC group has a post about it somewhere, I'd be happy with a copy-paste)

-Official rulings on what rooms are meant for what, and how they should be constructed.

-Standard mods, along with additional, contest specific mods, as previously mentioned by a player in the current contest forum.

-Other set rules I can't think of right now.

Of course the rules would have to be created in such a way that player creativity is still the bigest factor, but I think some basic ground rules that don't change through the contests would be a good thing. Also, I have no idea how to do it all; I guess do whatever you want to, hosts. I'll just be happy that the rules stop changing between contests. :pug:

You make some good points and we are always looking to improve the contests. I will see if I can move some UESC info to this group.

Cool, thanks!

Being that each contest is different I don't think it would be a good idea to make a "Standard rule set". It takes away from the diversity of each contest.

I see what you mean, but just some basic stuff would be good IMO, like standardizing the way size restrictions are used and having a standard and contest specific mod list.

We have been talking about a standard mod list. It is a WIP atm.

I'd like to see some standardized multifunction rules also.
we pretty much have a foundation.
ANy LCD mod, Any Weapon mod, Any skybox, Any script,

im not sure about sound pack mods

going off the basis of something that can be used for any build
i'd throw in the diamond bonded glass

how soon before a contest ends does the strawpoll go up?
perhaps if there were mod request thread in this group forum that goes live with the stawpoll.
then we can set a format. if choice A wins, id like these mods considered. and so on for choice B and C.
Then a couple of days before this months contest ends the mod consideration closes.
usually you can tell which is going to win but you could finalize a list for the most popular, and the second most popular.

peeps can watch the starw poll to see what wins, but they wont know what mods, so they shouldn't[./i] be able to start early.

this would clear the main thread of pages of mod requests.
put into the OP no additional mods will be considered because we have an area specific for that, and if they didn't get their voics heard that's their fault. ( would have to make sound non antagonistic ) and let them know mod requests in main thread will be removed

I've never been in the military. I have also never played on a multiplayer server. So im unfimilar with rules. Every military contest I get confused about what exactly overkill is. I mean in reality if we had turrets that tracked targets without the need for gunners....seems to me that we would use them? as many as we could fit.

I would like to see a set ammount of guns, or at least a max ammount of guns allowed. because honestly, what is overkill in a war.
