Animating Sprites for Darkest Dungeon

Not sure what I did here to get this error - it appears that I have an idle/walk/combat anims saved from spine - but I'm thinking I'm missing a step or perhaps some form of coding that needs to be done in the atlas? I set up the enchantress class to try testing out the new anims, but I get the error you see below.

I know you guys are busy - so no rush to answer at all - I will keep experimenting. Just logging the struggles I face along the way lol.

Make sure that you set Spine's version to 2.1.27 before you export, otherwise our binary reader won't read your .skel file correctly (that might be cause of the error). You can leave the Atlas export settings to default, except change the following: "Max width" and "Max height" should be set to 4096, and "Power of two" should be OFF.

There was a bug in the very early versions of Spine where the .png filename did not match the .skel/.atlas filenames upon export - I am wondering if that bug still persists in the Essentials version and that's why you had to rename it. If that's the case, then you'll need to manually edit the .atlas file (it's a text file) so that the correct name also appears in there (that also might be the reason for the error).

Cheers!

Hey guys… need help again 🙁

I just updated my walk, idle, and combat – suddenly im getting a spinedata error again – and don’t have any idea what could be wrong. I know I have seen the 349 error before sometime throughout my previous mods – but i’m baffled as to why i’m getting it now.

I never did anything different from before… any ideas?

Hey Brooks!

So I managed to export an idle/walk/combat - I really need to learn how to animate - so they are pretty static right now.

At least now there is no crashing, but my images of the enchantress is not showing up in game - just white boxes. Except for the status screen idle - the status screen idle she shows up correctly - but every where else, idle in party, walk, and combat, are all white boxes.

I have check naming - and everything appears correct - as well as inside the atlas files.

Any diea what I am missing now - as I am a bit perplexed as to why her status screen image/idle shows up right - but not anywhere else.

The in-game debugger also indicates that the anim for each (idle/walk/combat) are missing.

Edit: Ok I got her appearance to show up for the walk/idle/combat - but here is the error - in which the anmimations are not working. While my animations are not that great yet - they aren't happening in-game.

the debugger error is -

SpineSprite - missing animation named: Walk. I get the same error for idle and combat.

EDIT 2!

Ok, I made progress - I got the animation to play for the walk - although its like she has turrets. So got to work on it. But it is progress.

Awesome thanks for the suggestions - I will test them out this weekend :)

I posted the same question elsewhere so this answers that question. Thanks!
