I for myself am hating humanity but.. BUUUT some of us are worth all the effort.. so do I think ó.o
German PPS: ich glaub ich könnt mich in deutsch etwas besser ausdrücken will das aber hier nicht zum thema machen, wenn du magst, add mich und wir schreiben mal (:
I see you take ease in describing humanity as a whole. I, myself, can't say that I'm disappointed at humanity, because it is a big mass and in every big mass there's the positive and the negative. You can't be disappointed at the humanity as a whole, but at the racists. There are open-minded folks like you that feel the presence of stupidity in present-day humanity and they themselves, like you, are part of humanity.
There are many people that try to be kind to everyone, which is a good act, but in my opinion, it is very fragile. What I mean by fragile is that you can't be kind to everyone and you can't be kind forever. If you give kindness and love, you expect to receive some back. All humans differ and there's a reason conflicts exist. I believe that if you keep in mind that you can't befriend everyone or be kind to everyone, you're in a good path.
Right now, for you to realise the stupidity of others, it's a very advantageous position to be in. You certainly wouldn't want to be Donald Trump now, would you? But, I digress. Being kind is easy once you've set yourself to that path, once your feelings are clear and there's nothing to stop you or making you doubt others. Be selective and choose the ones that deserve your kindness.
Thank you for your time reading this.
Mh , i think you are right, maybe i went to extreme. But at moment, it sometimes feels like racism is accepted and every "average" person supports it. I'll guess I will follow my promise more strict. Be kind but more importantly honest. And ignore people that aren't worth it or my time.
It's kinda disgusting that "goodguy" has become an insult. We live in a world were you can discuss everything with almost everyone around the world. You could literally talk with an japanese businessman, a russian politician and an american farmer about tea flavors, if you want too. That's such a great achievement in helping finding, learn and educating yourself. Why ruin all that.
Let's hope that the kind and open-minded outlast this stupidity. After all they already did once, through pretty dark times.
I do hope so, to be honest. But, I will also take this as a chance to explain a bit of the philosophy I apply in life. I believe that racists are helpful in the society, and I don't mean I support racists nor do I defend them with this. All bad guys take a part in a story, whether that is a book, movie or even life itself. The bad guys in a story are the main obstacle, but after you defeat them, you are taught a moral. As racists will increase in numbers, which they currently seem to do, there will be more negative response to them.
In time, there will be a movement formed against racists that will bring hope and excitement back to everyone. I'll take an example from the European history, and that is Adolf Hitler. It took World War II for people to realise that nazism is bad. After the war, it is when people realised how bad it was and created all sorts of movements to go against nazism, to support peace and to prevent wars. In the end, nazism didn't appear again until recently.
Racists play their role, and while it is bad and harming for the society, it can be used for good. I'm not saying that we should tolerate racists or keep our mouths shut. We can show disapproval to their thoughts and help them quit their racist ways, but most importantly, we need to stop thinking about them too much. Going angry against them won't help, and neither will being kind to them help. I think it is a matter of time for a change to help society.
Currently, we need more racists so that more chaos is created and so that through that chaos, people will start recognizing how bad racists are and so that they overthrow them. I'm not the person that always looks in the bright side of everything, but in this case, I believe it is good to do so. (I'm also desperate to hear about the others' opinions as well.)
And I know you're going to hate to hear this, but Trump is popular in America for two reasons: 1) America's population is composed mostly of idiots, and 2) Despite EVERYTHING (the hotheadedness, the not-so-nice remarks, the trigger happy idiots he attracts, etc.), Trump is smart, period. He built an entire empire from the ground up, and used our own broken system to his benefit. And not only is he smart, but he has nothing to gain by running for president save padding his own ego. He already has all of the money to have whatever kinds of power he wants. I think the only reason he's running is because he once joked that he would.
Anyway, Hilary let our own people die horrible deaths, and Sanders...yah no, Sanders would be as much of a push over as Obama has been. Ted Cruz played dirty in the preliminaries, and no one cares about the other guy. Plus, Trump has been dishing out some nasty words, yes, but when has he ever attacked his own people (not including his ex-wives)? I'd be embarrassed to have him as president, yes, but I'm so sick of our presidents doing nothing, that maybe another hotheaded Reagan figure is what we need to get people to stop looking away from their own problems.
And honestly, I think that racism and global warming are the least of our problems right now, when there's an extremely organized faction in the Middle East trying to blow EVERYONE up. It's time to stop fighting ourselves and fight against the people trying to blow everything and everyone up.
Don't know that much about Trump, and maybe he is smart, but if that's true then he's an ignorant asshole.
I admit that i don't know anything about the other canditates, but even if they are worse, that doesn't make him someone who should be president. Didn't his father built up their wealth?
Maybe Rainecho is right and it needs a bang so people wake up again, but well. Do they really have to touch fire to know it's bad? Like. We have been there. 70 Years ago. How fast do people forget. Guess all we can do is raise our voice against them, and encourage others do to so aswell.
And yeah the IS is a problem , which is a whole different topic, for sure, but ignoring global warming isn't right. Why should we fight the IS when theres nothing to fight about?
The thing is that even if people want to stop global warming, there will always be people that would want to stop them. Fossil fuels make a lot of money, and as long as people who sell these fuels exist, they will always be competition against such groups. For capitalists, what matters is profit. They won't care to fire a man so there is more profit, they won't care to make a second hole in the ozone layer for profit, they won't care to create a third world war if they know that they can sell guns and make profit.
As for the terrorists and the ISIS, let them do their work. Bombing some cities down is just part of what they do to make people fear them. Showing resistance to the fear is a way to fight them, I suppose. But in the end, they will stop one day.
the very worst thing you can do to someone is pity them so instead of pitying them show them by example. just the other day i visited a convention where there were different activists including some quite vocal feminists.....after they were done accusing me of the earth i asked what they wanted. free feminine hygeine products....no chance of that happening in this country anytime soon so i gave them the money i would spend on razors and shaving cream etc if i didnt have a beard other people saw this and joined in.
not the best example but its a start to make others follow your lead and sloly but surely it happens naturally
on a political note adolf was so much a hero at one point that he had full backing from the vatacan in the beginning and look where that ended up!
keep doing what youre doing pal and stay strong
My biggest concern of the United States is allowing mass immigration to our country. I am not being a bigot here but there is too much of a risk for accidentally allowing the wrong people to enter the country. I am not against the Muslims or any ethnicity group but I am against people who justify the combination of Religion and State, such as ISIS. It's fine to have irrationalities but when you combine irrationalities with absolutism, then you create a warmongering theocracy. We have seen this with the tragedy of Palestine, the current Syrian Civil War, and Spanish Inquisition.
I think we need more action on trying to find solutions with what power we have instead of trying to rely on someone else doing it.
Like doing whatever little bit we can, I try to tackle it my own way by doing things that can create and do stuff for humanity in one way or another, even if it's simple things like picking up the trash from the street or simply smiling at a person, if there's success and they return a smile, then I would like to believe that trigger out there has spread something more positive than negative.
Of course, that requires having some reserve energy and interest to do so in the first place~
