Also, pinning this, went through about 300 reports yesterday, I consider myself fairly strict but only 100 or so had a real purpose.
What I mean by this:
This trade has been open for 4 months: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/4652765
The owner of that trade was last online 129 days ago and counting: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/LunchSet0/
I do not think it makes sense to keep the trades open if it is impossible to get any trading done. I could understand keeping them open for possibly up to a month of absence, but I believe anything more and it would be just better to close the trades.
P.S.: I had originally reported this trade a couple days ago, but then I thought that it would be better to start a discussion about. Then I saw this and it seemed like the appropriate place to turn.
I've closed his trades, since they obviously aren't valid.
With over a thousand reports a day, it's just impractical to have to respond to them. Currently, we just have a "close" button on our dashboard. I'd personally like a reject option, for invalid reports. Once a specific number of your reports are rejected, your ability to report is revoked for a time.
standout example: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/2711681 (posts in question say hidden by user, but i think that happened automatically due to bans, cause i know i reported this at least 3 times over a period of 3 weeks)
For example, say someone renamed a flamethrower to say "Hitler's Flamethrower" and redescribed it to be something like "A lot of Jews died by this" and then attempted to sell it.
Would the user get banned for it because it's extremely likely to cause total shit storm?
I've seen several trades with several of these renamed things (renamed by the user themselves; I don't think anyone should be held accountable for something they didn't rename or redescribe unless they're like "I BUY DIS CAUSE IT FUNY AND LULZ JEWS BURN") and I've always been reluctant to report them. I know people have been near permaed for stuff like that, some guy with a really racist strange minigun or something got a harsh (with good reason) response from an admit before.
