Would be a real bummer for farmers if the Tux farmed with F2P accounts remained untradable.
Does anyone know if the drops you get while F2P become tradable once you upgrade to premium?
If that is the case and the Tux would remained untradable while F2P but became tradable after upgrading to premium, you'd have to invest 2-3 Keys to just get 1 more Tux into the market.
That's how I would show my middle finger to farmers, if I was Valve.
items will be tradeable after if you use the premium gift.
but valve would be happy if the Tuxx is valuable, becouse more ppl will buy keys.
The wiki says that you can trade some misc items from F2P, so this could be one of those exceptions. But who knows...
Sure, yeah its free and easy but people are goddurn lazy
http://tf2stats.net/item/Earbuds/143/ vs http://tf2stats.net/item/Tux/1011/
they are gonna be rare :3
Bill's and Earbuds are among the most common items in the game and should never be used as a benchmark for rarity. The reason behind their value has absolutely nothing to do with being rare.
Anyway, the tux is a promo item and will definitely go up in value. My guess is it will reach 2-4 keys in a years time or more.
not really, special cases where people had no idea things would become valuable were the bills and buds. you see the difference between 2011 and 2012 festives, once the gold rush is on, the stuff is no longer valuable, now 2012 festives are trash, and the robot chicken hat is no more than 1.33 ref.
im not sure what youre "not really[ing]" to. It sounds like youre saying that the tux wont be as valuable (which i agree with?). If youre responding to my first sentence about price rise with limited supply, its qualified with the second part about demand.
Sorry if im not reading things clearly, im pretty tired this week. :p
well supply and demand is arbitrary in tf2, there are like a hundred thousand or more bills caps after all. i'm sure some craft hats are pretty rare at this point, people just don't want the ugly things and so they remain worthless. i think the tux comes after the cat was out of the bag, so it will never be rare or sought after.
