I'm really stunned at how people just ignore descriptions of trades all together
Just a bit peeved that people can't take two seconds to read. I try to make it clear on what I am selling and buying, so it is easy for people to know what I want. Here are some examples of trades where, as you can see in the comments, people just outright ignore my descriptions.

Example 1[www.tf2outpost.com]

Example 2[www.tf2outpost.com]

Example 3(hidden comment)[www.tf2outpost.com]

Most people who are involved in TF2 trading have minor brain damage and/or are not English speaking but try to use English websites anyway (I think that might indicate slight brain damage too?)

And another one happened on Example 2. I understand not being a native English speaker, but wouldn't you ask "Are you taking offers?" or try using google translator (or for that matter just ask what the trade states)? Or maybe I should get off the internet.

Hes making an offer its not an absolute set down price, he can do what he wants,

The point is it's my trade and I have an absolute set down price and I'm not accepting anything else, and I'm clearly stating that. It's not like im asking for offers and its just a lowball, it's blatant disregard of what the trade description states, which they obviously did not read.

Ignore/hide -> problem solved.

I wonder if anyone has considered translating a list of terms for traders to use?

You have a ban for spamming nonsense...from a year ago. Why do you go on the tf2outpost steam group if you haven't been allowed to use the site for a year?

Not sure I understand what you mean.

You're permabanned because you have 6 offences of spamming, clearly you did not get the message the first 5 times.

If you can't deal with people trying to negotiate prices, regardless of what you write in your notes, on an open trading platform, maybe you should look somewhere else to sell for fixed prices.
There are automated trading sites that you can use that even sell your item for you with a bot for a fixed price.

I really don't understand why ppl get so butthurt with the occasional offer that is not exactly what they want. Just hide his offer, you don't even need to reply. It's a simple click.

btw, bloating your notes with blank lines in between every line only makes it more likely ppl ignore your notes.

It's not that am anti-negotiation, but if someone says "Price is not negotiable" then maybe you shouldn't try to negotiate the price? If it is a fixed price then I'm not looking for offers. It's not lowballs that I do not like, it is people who have blatant disregard about what the trade states. They see the item they want and ignore what the seller is saying completely. Also, on your comment about my trade descriptions, it's much easier to read what I have than a paragraph of notes where you have to browse the whole paragraph to see what the seller wants. I have my price separated by lines in the middle so it stands out. I think if it was just a paragraph people would be less inclined to read it.

To my experience, you have the most success with listing the relevant information in order of importance so that it can be seen at first glance.

That means no unnecessary introductions for one.

List the price(s) in a compact (no scrolling) and easy to see way, maybe enhanced with some subtle colors. Add another line for those who can read, if you are also accepting offers or only want them to add you when agreeing.

I really don't see any need to have more than 1-3 compact lines of notes when selling a single item.

I too don't bother reading everything to get the relevant information. But I simply ignore trades (that are worse than yours) and move to the next seller when searching for simple items that have a book to read in their notes.
Not saying your notes fall into that category, but wouldn't 2 simple lines suffice to sell a single hat?

And no matter how hard you try, there will always be the ones that ignore your wishes. Simply hide their post. And if they add you without reading your notes, I made my best deals of those :)

People just don't read.

"Buying AND Selling keys for 2.55

Brought : 9
Sold : 9

STOCK = 0
Pease don't add me if I have no stock. You will be blocked and given -rep if you add me without reading the notes."

I had 10 people add me a day without reading the notes.

People just ignore common sense. I know people say that the prices are not fixed for items, but if the trader says "NON NEGOTIABLE" then that means that that trader will not haggle, and so there is no need to waste time typing "I offer 1 ref less than what you clearly posted as your fixed price".

You did take that trade off auto bump once you had a stock of zero i presume?

If you had taken a look at the trade description, you would have seen that it says "BUYING". It wasn't auto bumped anyway, and it was advertising buying as well as selling. So no, I saw no reason to stop bumping it. Eventually the amount of illiterate children became overwhelming and I had to close the trade.
