When you're banned, it directs you to your appeal page. Set your backpack to public, say "Hey sorry I was on extended leave and set my backpack to private, please unban me".
Super simple stuff.
No, it does not direct me to an appeals page. It says I am permanently banned, and it will not allow me to navigate the site at all. I never saw anything in the rules when I donated that said my inventory couldn't be set to private, especially when I was not actively trading. As I mentioned I was away on extended leave.
Stop mentioning how much you donated, you shouldn't be raised above the rules of the site, or get special treatment, no matter how much you have donated to it.
Raised above the rules? I used the site for months prior to going on leave, I never recall seeing anything anywhere about losing my entire account (and my donation along with it) for turning on a privacy setting. Even as I look at the site as a guest I still can't see any rules along those lines. I was a good member, and followed the rules, yet I get >permanently< banned for a first time offense that I didn't even know about, all while I'm on leave and trying to avoid getting targetted for hacks.
My donation was to come with essentially lifetime benefits, I expected to use the site again down the road for trading purposes, most recently as I came back for the Steam TCG and Dota 2 player TCG game. So imagine my surprise when I see I'm permanently banned without any warning, any communication, etc.
Again, when I left for leave, I had no active trades, I was not logging into the site, there was nothing related to my Steam account and my website account because I was gone. I could see being unable to trade or even make offers with a private inventory, but a straight up permanent ban is crazy.
> your donation status means nothing
> there's a rule about having a public profile/inventory (if it's not public, go and set it to public)
> if you haven't noticed, the site has received a complete overhaul, that also means that certain parts of the site won't work correctly and/or haven't been implemented yet (this includes the unban appeal box)
> add any admin, tell them you've set your profile to public and would like to use the site again and you're set
Another thing I would like to mention is why is everyone so inconsiderate on Outpost?
Couldn't we just talk politely instead of just say things in a negative way?
These negative comments aren't any help to the situation at hand, all they do is just repeat what other's have already said.
I myself would have seen the last time he had logged into the site or in the event sent a message telling him about the problem before had banned him but i guess maybe the ban was automatic done by a script or code within the website as there are too many users. I also would have sent to him a message if he had not replied to the first message "if this ban was a mistake please add me to talk about it and we will work out." but I guess OP point is "I deserve more respect than this" as I'm a donator and I helped the site in a way.". However admins and moderators help a lot the site too on their own way and what happened here was within the mistakes humans tend to commit time to time after lots of work.
All users are treated equally regardless of their donator status and if he had been disrespected (I don't see how, when or by who) then he could have brought up the fact that he even donated to the site otherwise I don't see how this makes any difference.
And speaking of rules, it is the users' responsability to periodically check on them, even though Sneeza usually announces whenever they are updated.
The community "likes" to report offending users, and someone must have reported you for having a private backpack, even though you may have been away.
I see you have been unbanned already, so I'm locking this.
