Major technical (crashing, cheating, broken missions) and balance (heavy tank blobfest, unthreatening infantry AT) issues mar the experience of the much awaited release somewhat. But it's fun when it works provided you're here for pvp, because the pve gamemode is insufficient at the moment. Broken Arrow game is more forgiving than Eugen games, with units returning to your deck after dying and a comeback mechanic in the form of scaling income. It's also focused on its 5v5 gamemode.

Update: Many of the above issues have been fixed since the release, but there are still technical hiccups, and the post-release updates have been a little disappointing in terms of addressing them. Thus the negative review stands.

Destiny 2 ranges between boring and frustrating. I can't tell you how much of the endgame content is worthwhile, since I only managed to wade through enough mud to get hardly a lick of it.

The gameplay is solid if rather unspectacular at the very base, but once put into the context of the litany of quests, so-called adventures and campaigns (all of which will challenge you as much as the tutorial does) it becomes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chore. Destiny does very little to spice up the fights that it banks on to keep you playing - even the abilities granted to players mostly vary from 'you can take more bullets before dying now' to 'this thing kills a bunch of enemies fast'.

Collecting various loot is interesting at first at least, but seems to fade away in favour of weapons and armours with preset statistics and traits later on.

The writing is uninspired and, for the most part, pointless. The music is very good, and there is no denying Destiny 2 looks great (though some character and enemy design is questionable).

It could be worth trying if you happen to have enough willpower to forge on through the mountain of mediocre content and knock out enough of the required missions to unlock the end bits of the game. And find some people to play with, that one appears to actually be required.

Every bit as good as Attila is, with a more manageable campaign and a more interesting time period (imo).
The small roster might be a turnoff for some people but I ended up liking it in the end.

A beautiful adventure/survival game that challenges you to adapting to the environment of an alien, long-abandoned planet.

A good story, a breathtaking spectacle, a thrill and a challenge to play.

A pixelart masterpiece with a sad but interesting story and cute but sad bird boys.
