This is my favorite game in the Red Faction series outside of the fact it didn't have multiplayer. The storyline was fun, the story didn't have overused tropes, the humor could have been better (especially with Shrike) and the boss fights were challenging. The weapons had multiple abilities that made a meaningful impact on gameplay and the way you approached enemies. The enemies also felt alive in this game, as they weren't just AI roaming around in scripted paths and events. They would have conversations, make lewd comments to eachother, talk ♥♥♥♥ about you when you were fighting them, and it just made the game a lot more enjoyable. Overall, the game has a really industrial/cyberpunk theme to it and a pretty appropriate soundtrack.

As far as the multiplayer went, it was fun playing this game in splitscreen when I owned it on the Playstation 2. The only downside to this game is that it's a port from a console version and it doesn't include all of the maps that were in the console version for the multiplayer. I believe the Xbox version had more maps than the Playstation 2 version. The AI in the multiplayer, especially if you were just playing alone just to kill time, was fun. They were challenging and not just mindless bots running around. It almost felt like an arena shooter. The gamemodes are pretty fun as well, CTF, Bagman, Deathmatch, etc etc.

I would recommend this game solely so people could see the pinnacle of this game series, not the attempts made to resurrect the game years later with Guerilla and Armageddon.

This game was okay. The storyline and characters could have used a lot more depth. I felt as if the storyline was very rushed. Aside from that, the missions are very repetative. The destruction technology is cool, especially if there are enemies on a building you don't feel like fighting and just want to throw explosives on the support beams and blow it up. There is a lot of connection to the lore from the first Red Faction, but I really don't see how this series is connected at all to the story in Red Faction II. It's like they completely skipped over the game like it never happened.

Oh, and oops, we know we fought the oppressors in the first Red Faction, now we gotta fight the ebil goobments after we fought for revolution twice before. Just seems a little repetative and makes the whole universe look dumb if they allow the same ♥♥♥♥ to happen to them over and over again.

The weapons in this game kinda felt crappy to me, especially the assault rifle. I honestly had more fun feeling like a rogue agent using the pistol than I did using the assault rifle. The other guns are hit and miss and didn't really impact the way I played the game in a meaningful way. I was also disappointed I couldn't get into one of those flying gunships. That would have made vehicle combat in the game a lot more stimulating.

As far as the multiplayer, it was boring. Though, seeing people wack others with an Ostrich was kind of funny. The game modes and the maps really didn't work from a third person point of view and I would often times find my camera stuck so close to my character because of a wall that I couldn't see anything around me. This would eventually lead to my death.

Overall, this game is hit and miss, but if you want to play it for the story, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, I wouldn't even waste the time.

7 Hours is what it took to beat this game. Storyline was kind of corny and predictable, and quite literally must have been written by Sci-Fi channel. The tropes were more annoying than anything and it felt as if it had nothing to do with the original Red Faction series outside of some lore from the first game and Guerilla. The game is very linear and the destruction technology really only made an impact on me for the open world concept in Red Faction: Guerilla. In RF:A it just seemed more like an annoyance to make you use the reconstruction nano-technology. I don't even remember if there was Multiplayer in this game, that's how quickly I played this game and never touched it again.

I am glad the Red Faction series has been dumped, because I honestly don't know where they were going to go after this game. In my opinion, Red Faction died with RF2.

This game was great and I really hope there is a sequel. I wasn't really fond of the multiplayer, but the coop survival mode is the most fun. I don't really have much to say about this game other than the combat kicked ass, didn't feel repetative and was somewhat true to the lore of the series. They did an excellent job with the immersion and escapist gothic theme that surrounds the Imperium's Space Marines. Orcs and Chaos were definitely a great mix.

One thing I wish would happen from the developers is to make stories from each race that are interconnected to the lore. Fire Warrior did okay and this game was definitely an excellent introduction to the warhammer universe.

I wasn't very impressed with this sequel. It felt more like a knee-jerk reaction to competition to Star Craft II than expanding on the previous game. There wasn't much "strategy" involved and it 90% of the time ended up as a really long stalemate game until someone got relaxed enough that they made a mistake. The lack of units and unit abilities like in the previous game made it very boring as well. I liked some of the "newer" units, such as heroes, but it just didn't hit the void in my heart from the first game. Being that it's a couple years later that I'm reviewing this, I can imagine that this game is no longer supported, so I doubt there will be any additions or expansions outside of what is already released for this game.

Oh, and GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE. Why on EARTH would you include this in a game that you would sell on Steam? It's the most pain in the ass piece of ♥♥♥♥ and you have no other choice but to use it if you want to download updates for the game.

This is probably the best Source game in rivalry with CS:S. I love the WWII era, the mechanics and gameplay is easy to get used to, and if you find a server with custom maps, it can be fun. I've probably played with more teamwork in this game than I have in Battlefield, Arma and other games. Demolition is a really fun game-mode that requires a lot of team effort. The one with the flags is the most common one on most servers and is great. The game can sometimes take HOURS to win. Most of the players are very skilled and you learn a lot from these players. The community isn't toxic either.

The only downside to this game is that I don't think they are going to be releasing a sequel on a newer engine. I would really love to see it, but I doubt it's going to happen, since most themes are moving toward more modern technology and weapons.

Here's to hoping though. I highly recommend this game.

Abandonware. I don't even know why this game is still for sale on the Steam store. Everything that is in the screenshots is either broken in the game or not even implemented. I am not very familiar with the community, but from what I've read, these developers don't deserve the money or attention from this title. They are obviously too immature to accept that they need their vision and priorities to be adjusted, listen to feedback as well as participating with the community. Overall, they want easy money with little effort involved. These kinds of developers are toxic and I would not recommend buying this game until a new team comes on to take this project over.

I really can't get into this game. I don't know why, but it just feels repetative. Even when you get gear, fight bosses, get better gear, you start asking yourself, "for what?" After you've reached end-game, there is no replay value. You've already done everything the game has to offer. I will admit, there was some fun in playing with friends, but even we would get bored after about a half hour to an hour of gameplay, because it was just doing the same routine over and over again. Nothing exciting happens outside of the worms and falling into pits of mobs.

I absolutely love this game. It's just unfortunate that it relies on Gamespy for multiplayer (which no longer exists). There is a work-around with GameRanger, but in my experience, it's very sluggish and very hard to find servers with decent ping. Most of these servers kick players with ping over a certain limit, so your options are limited as far as multiplayer.

However, even when this game was in its prime, the multiplayer wasn't all that great anyway, unless you were playing on LAN. This is especially true in space battles. The netcode is really basic, buggy and there would be latency even if all players had great ping on the server.

Recently though, there is an issue with the latest Crimson drivers where there are extreme artifacts and discoloration, making the game almost negative colors and virtually unplayable.

I believe there is a time when a game finally has to die, and I believe that time is now. I'm not recommending this game for the sake that people on newer systems won't be able to experience the full gameplay experience as it was when it was in its prime.

I would say that this is a game that has come a very long way and the developers have made a lot of effort to improve on their product. They've tried different models and play styles, listened to feedback from the players and overall continued to improve upon an idea. The developers are very active within their own community and don't let problems hang over their heads while a controlling project lead barks orders and ideas at them.

I would buy this game solely on the effort the developers make to push what the believe is a quality game.
