When you throw a grenade, Bad Cop says "Pick up that can."

This is the best thing I have ever played.

It was stated earlier this month (July 2022) that Rockstar will not be releasing any meaningful updates to RDO anymore. Basically, this game is on life support and there's no point to grind in it anymore as Rockstar would rather milk GTAV like they have for the past decade.

They removed legacy weapons so I'm pretty much never touching this again.

"But those weapons are cheating and not fun for other people :((("

That's cool. Get a tesla rifle for events and tag enemies. 90% of end game players (myself included) do not like bullet sponge enemies. It's not engaging. It's not fun. Not all of us are running the generic boring-ass PA explosive/minigun builds. Majority of all our builds are broken and useless now too. They could've at least let us have fun for being around for that long to get those weapons to begin with but whatever. This is the last thing the skeleton crew working on this game should be worrying about, which is actively finding ways to get veteran players to stop playing. Guess it worked.

It's better now, but far from perfect. The season 1 launch and patches are a step in the right direction but they need to pump out more content asap similar to this to keep a playerbase.

Everything this game has to offer is pretty much a downgrade compared to the first game. Though it does give us more insight and closure to the alien lore found on 4546B, it falls flat trying to grasp that isolated survival feel the first game did so well.

One of a kind game. There's not really much out there quite like it. Just wait until you find out it's a horror game!

So this was... kind of a disappointment. I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything Frictional Games has released over the years, even way back to Penumbra. This game just felt like a huge step back from The Dark Decent in almost every way it seem. The main character is constantly talking at almost any given point, even when enemies are around which subtracts from the immersion immensely. I feel like they had a good mixture of protagonist speech in SOMA as apposed to how they handled things now. Enemy variety is also extremely scarce in this game. You either get wendigo #1, wendigo #2, or flying vacuum man. There's also full body awareness now (you can look down and see your body) but this has a bad drawback because of how this engine handles geometry, so I found myself getting constantly stuck on small bumps and hills on the ground.

Overall, this felt more like a drama with sci-fi elements to it. I hope Frictional Games learns from this experience! They had it perfect in TDD and SOMA!
