Nostalgia aside. At some point the story stops being coherent and just becomes a bad attempt at being soulful/artsy thats padded to high hell for time. The sheer amount of pauses, repeated information, cryptic metaphors, unfinished sentences, emotional outbursts that don't fit the situation and just ♥♥♥♥ thats told instead of shown. By the 3rd volume I just wanted to skip every cutscene, instead I did that for the 4th volume because gross low fps cgi cutscenes that killed any possible redemption.

Even the game itself is padded for time, between the guild books, and meeting characters in dungeons at the end of the dungeon. The experience is just so off putting that I want to go back and play the first games just to see if its just as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ or were they on drugs while making GU.

It's something to experience but not that replayable.

The open world transporting ramps up quickly from learning the ropes easy to how the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to get there and then stays there.

The action pieces are too far in between to where, when you're not carrying an armory, that is when the next action segment is.

After a certain point in the story, it starts falling apart rather than coming together. Some story threads felt like they were purposefully delayed for a twist later, making it a jumbled mess.

The characters that are supposed to drive the story after chapter 9 https://youtu.be/bxOaW6aHpak

Plays nothing like SPAZ 1.

Fun at first but ends up feeling like a slow grind to level up and upgrade your ship with more segments before the ai upgrades to godly levels in the campaign and chases you around.

Eh. Looked fun.

Gameplay loop consists of grinding quests over and over for items and money, used to unlock and upgrade new equipment.

Gameplay itself is shallow.

Needs two quality of life upgrades. Sprinklers should work instantly and can sleep whenever you want.

If you want to focus on farming, you have to wait until enough time has passed to go to the next day. If you want to focus on building you need money from farming. Sure you can fish or hunt bugs but its pocket change, even then a majority of my play time was waiting.

Mobile/knock off Animal Crossing.

Hasn't been updated since 2017. DLC is bugged and won't install.

If for some reason you still want it and use a controller, don't upgrade your tent into a house until level 15 for vip status (it'll upgrade into the third version of the house when you upgrade, the second form is missing the exit) or you'll be trapped inside the house/forced to play with m/kb version until level 15.

The MMO (furniture simulator) that doesn't want you playing it for very long. Daily vendor cap limit that I can burn through after clearing two POIs. Few daily missions. No radiant quests, I'd love just to be given a random area to clear or to collect an item from ala skyrim and just play brainlessly for hours but between the limited scrap storage and daily cap limit you'll be lucky to get a few hours a day in.

The story missions are fun but feel more like singleplayer content. There really doesn't feel like there is much multiplayer content outside of events and daily ops. If you're on a public server, they've probably already been completed, so you either end up waiting for it to pop up again or have to server hop. Making the multiplayer content pool very shallow.

If the game had radiant quests from a faction to earn rep with, and a sharing system so friends also get rewarded from your quests, remove the vendor cap limit and the scrap storage limit. There would be more interest in the game, I'd be more interested into dumping money into it via fallout 1st.

As it stands now, fallout 1st is just a waste of money, unlimited storage for the lack of quests. Sure there is probably about 20+ events/dailies, but most of them require a party to complete* (read as not die and or fail because the thing you have to protect gets destroyed or you run out of time or ammo fighting a giant bullet sponge).

It's Fallout though so its fun enough. But only enough content for a few hours a day. BUT BOY LOOK AT ALL THAT FURNITURE.

Having played this back in the day when it first came out. I loved it.

Time hasn't been kind to this game. Crashes. Minor issues that compound the experience. Such as the reload animation repeating, or getting stun locked by an enemy, to where you can't open the menu to heal. Or companion seeking out enemies and permadying before you can get to them. The amount of saving/save scumming one has to do on the off chance the game decides to spawn something beyond your level while exploring.

Only playable/enjoyable with heavy modding now. Even then it still has issues. I'm starting to just hate all Bethesda games, they have nostalgia though. Maybe one day someone will do a skywind type thing with the 3D fallout games.
