Played too much of the Painkiller series (I did the same with the original diablo and its also hard for me to enjoy diablo like games now).

Platforming in this title seems a bit much, every area feels like its built for it instead of shooting stuff. So its really hard for me to enjoy it between being bored with the genre and a gameplay mechanic (platforming) that takes me out of the moment more than anything else, more so having to chase literally almost every demon up onto a ledge, in every area, of every stage.

Soundtrack is awesome though. I'm gonna still recommend it, but I also recommend trying it first before buying.

Early Access Review
Played the early free version. Loved it.
Bought it. Got bored. Got annoyed. Hated it.

Permanent item loss on normal difficulty on death. No option to change difficulty. No option to turn off instant autosave on death. Plus item decay. So either 12 hours in I have to start over to enjoy the game the way I wanted to or I can leave a negative review and hope a dev sees it.

edit:
On the brightside, there is mods to make the game better. I think I'll wait before investing time into this game again though.

Yes I recommend, because its the last of Metal Gear.
At the same time no, because it was aborted before it was finished.

Between the cut content. I'd say they would've done like they did in MGS4 with Shadow Moses except the setting of Snake Eater for A Quiet Exit and finally catching Burning Man.

Then mission 51.

I'd like to believe that if the game was truly finished, you'd probably start building Outer Heaven in game. Then out of nowhere it'd switch to MG1. Where you'd play as Solid Snake (in the fox engine not emulated). Essentially becoming the villain. Ending it where it began. A snake eating its own tail. Giving you one last guilt trip. Then the post credits scene would be Liquid cursing Snake for stealing what he wanted to Ocelot, setting up MGS1. At least thats how I see the tone throughout the story heading.

But alas we got Pachinko machines. The end of an era. The end of Konami.

Game could've been better.

"dungeons" could've been better if you didn't have to do all three challenges at once to get the last thing.
Also if they had a mini-story. Something to liven it up.

combat could've been better. I feel like I'm either over powered or underpowered and can't dodge repeated stunlocks.

The completionist in me wants to get all the stuff. The critic in me sees the game as 90% padded for time.

For $10, its okay.

Beat in half an hour. Earned first card during the credits. Mostly just match as quickly as possible with three exception levels (smokey, bombs, and poison potions) which just aggravated me more than a gameplay twist.

If they were to make a sequel later down the line. Maybe make it the rpg battle system. It essentially already is. RPG match three, without the rpg, equipment, leveling system, etc. Pad out the game.

Enjoyable enough. Plus controller support was great.

Save gems to get the pack that costs 100.

Use the bomb, electric and turret towers. Plus one hero. For those stuck on level 8 and past. Might have to play with placement to figure out what works best where.

Game could use a recommended cards on level select or to return the f2p hourly rewards thing if people get stuck.

To players:

Irritating Stick (old ps1 game) plus Flappy Bird.

You'll either love it, or hate it.

To devs:

I think it could use an endless mode of varying degrees of difficulty from relaxing to hellish. Maybe add objective list, don't get hit for X amount, collect X amount of orbs in X amount of time, etc. That appear every so often and if completed refills health?
Maybe even toss in a music import option and have the colors shift based on the music played.

A create a level option and a way to share them.

Having played the original browser game I came in expecting kill zombie, loot, turn in quest, repeat. Its a bit more barren than I expected but still a fun enough f2p time killer.

Things I hope to see improved upon or added:

1. Melee weapons with different animations and speeds.
2. A prettier inventory menu. More like Diablo or DayZ instead of a text list.
3. non-daily quests that can only be done once per character. (ie story mode, quests that make you feel like you progressed or open up new areas.)
4. Fixing the zombies doing multiple hits with one animation.
5. Making the worms glow in some way or have a louder noise when they spawn.
6. Making puke zombies more distinguishable from other zombies.
7. A crafting system, tearing down old loot into materials. Clothing into rags/bandages. Weapons into parts to upgrade another weapon.
8. I could list crap all day, just checking if you're reading.
9. Day time mode?
10. Personal base and a guild/clan base, to defend/upgrade.

Controller customization doesn't work fully. The two triggers (Camera left and right, the 90's called they want their crappy camera controls on the ps1 back) and left stick pushed in (pause menu/ confirm) will always be assigned to specific things and cannot be changed even if you set them as something else on the loader.

So I don't recommend the game if you play with a controller.

Fun though. Dynasty Warriors dueling with anime waifu's and what looks to be a rock paper scissors mechanic.

Crash To Desktop SIM 2016

It's almost like the game itself wants me to play something more fulfilling.
