It may take some time to get used to the new design philosophy behind buffs and mechanics, as Neon Abyss 2 is not as stat-stack-heavy as the original was, but rather offers some other mechanics that create fun runs even without getting the right artifacts.

Speaking of Artifacts, they do not make or break runs in this game. Rather, the power increase comes in different forms, especially the weapon enhance mechanic.

quite fun, quite cheap, recommend

Ill be honest. I don't even know what people are mad about. You can easily and quickly create every card you need f2p.

And yes, the game's a ton of fun

I loved monster train 1.

Monster Train 2 improves the already amazing depth of the first game to a game where every run truly is super unique, with tons of combinations to try out.

If you like deckbuilding rogue-likes, you will love monster train 2.

Surprisingly, this game has quite a bit of depth while being a limitless well of dopamine.

All the characters somehow manage to have different strategies you want to play them with, despite the game's concept being really simple.

Def hyped for more future updates

I have had Die in the Dungeon in my wishlist for quite a while, played a beta version as a browser game.

It's a very nice idea with some really fun mechanics, and I'm interested to see where this game goes

As the game is now however, I cannot yet recommend it, as it just doesn't feel polished enough yet.
Relics kind of all feel roughly the same, most of em not actually doing much in the ways of spicing up gameplay.

Aquiring dice is 10% of the time "eh I guess I can take that" and 90% "no need for that", which makes battles kind of.. tedious if you don't get much for it.

The overworld map also... needs some rework, it's just not good yet.

Balance is also in a weird spot, as typically you can go through everything just fine, until something randomly oneshots you without being able to do anything about it.

I may change my review in the future when a few more updates have come out

In a single day, I went from "how could a game about poker cards be addicting?"

to

"I cannot see the number 5 without thinking about Balatro"

would recommend.

Why is this genuinely so super fun and complex, yet simple? What kinda gold mine is this?
