Hit stuff get stuff more hit later for big stuff.

The game is very reminiscent of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and they're straight up about it. If you're a fan of those games then you're definitely gonna enjoy this. For about a 10 hour experience on the first playthrough, 20 bucks might be a bit steep for some, but if this ever goes on sale I definitely recommend it.

Some minor cons: once you find the right orb combo that works for you, its pretty much what you're gonna stick with throughout the whole game. I wish they dug a little deeper into enemy weaknesses from different damage types, but if you're casually playing through this then its not really gonna be a concern. Also there's minor "virtue signaling" on some story based characters that I felt was a bit off. It doesn't detract from the whole game, but I thought it was a strange to have 5 of the 6 characters you meet to have an LGBT backround.

Overall its pretty fun, give it a go if you've been itching for that metroidvania feel.

Incredibly fun and fast-paced arcade shooter. Well worth the buck (or 2).

For when you just want to blow stuff up and have a good time.

Just play it. I can't say anything about this without giving away what it's about. It's fun, it's got some funny things, and some serious things. The soundtrack and possibly 90% of the game was made by one dude, that alone is quite impressive.

Hold off on buying 'till March. ♥♥♥♥♥ wonky atm.

3 hours in and I love it. Feels a lot like RE4.

This is a perfect remaster of the original game. I completed the game and enjoyed it all the way through. The VA and visuals will blast your nostalgia-meter through the roof.

TIP: Don't buy any of the 8-bit music from the Gallery until you've completed the game. There's a known issue where the game will continuously play the original 8-bit music for each level after you've bought any 8-bit music. The only way to turn it off is if you beat the game and have the option available.
