Fantastic Zombie survival game. Well worth the meagre price tag with hours of fun to be had solo and even more fun to be had coop

It's worth £2. That's less than a sandwich.

Hi my name is Pevs and I am an addict.

Completely pulled in by the Arena. Combat is, initially, nails hard, but you get better. YOU get better, not your character (they do get better too, clarity is important) but the main influence on combat is your ability to read your enemies and know when and how to strike.

If all the Devs do is pad out the arena and apply spit and polish to it - I'd be happy. The fact that I know they're doing so much more is all the more reason to chuck some money at them to help them out. Whilst you split skulls and/or have your skull split in THE ARENA!

Firstly - Posting a review to offset unhappy players who clearly don't research games before buying them.

Secondly - This game goes from *brutally* hard (limited number of guys who can't hit sod all) to "only a bit" hard (more guys who can hit more often, but die nearly as easily as rookies) as you progress through the campaign.

Early matches are tough, arse clenching afairs, and that is brilliant. The RNG isn't to everyones taste, fair enough - don't buy the game. Don't but it and then complain that the RNG is unfair, it's a RNG, IT HAS NO BIAS. You can pretty easily get the odds in your favour by clever placement of resources and thinking ahead. Mordheim, despite appearances, is more like Chess than anything else that springs to mind. Awesome chess with guns and swords and frikken undead and ratmen and CHAOS AND *hyperventilates*

The game mechanics have to be learnt and then each warband has to be learnt, how to play and how to fight each enemy is a satisfying learning experience and will reward the more diligent players. On this note: Yes Skaven are awesome, no Skaven can't fight Chaos man to man, 1 on 1. This game only actually really clicked with me when I PICKED THE RIGHT WARBAND FOR MY GAMESTYLE, this is important when getting to grips with it.

TL;DR - Research before you buy, RNG heavy (but fair), rewards patience over impulse

FIrstly, I've been playing this game offline all week - so ignore the time played, I probably have around 10 hours on it now.

I um'd and ar'd about buying this for a long time due to the price. I didn't want to pay £12/20 for a mobile phone game and fortunately the Steam sale God's took pity on me and it cropped up for £5 during the sale, which was an acceptable amount of money to waste should the game turn out to be terrible.

It is not terrible. It is quite good, in fact.

There's enough variety to keep it interesting, granted the levels are not hugely different from one another - they're dungeons, what would you expect, BUT as you level up enemies get progressively trickier (but no smarter) and tactics need to be changed in order to survive.

As a HUGE Warhammer Fantasy fan, the music and setting is absolutely perfect. The little FMV you get upon entering a town is a very nice touch and really brings the game to life.

Objectively the gameplay is quite heavy on RNG but you can definitely make the game work in your favour by playing smart. Loot is rare enough to be exciting, but if you hit a wall you're gonna have to grind through it until you level, get a nice bit of random loot or hit a side mission for an item reward.

TL;RD:

Worth a tenner, not worth full price. Even to a fanatical Warhammer Fantasy fan like myself.

Deceptively simple, this game offers as much as you want from it. With infinite design possibilities there's no "I win" vehicle, which has been my experience in other similar games, as you progress through the tiers you'll specialise and find your niche and it never feels unfair - even when you've just scraped into the lower end of the next tier. Clever design can and will beat bigger guns.

Maps are nice and there's enough variety to keep you going for a while, I especialy like the "boss fights" where a group of lower tier players will be pitted against a higher tier player. It makes for exciting gameplay and a sneak peak at what awesome stuff there is to come.

Reasonable F2P model, definitely *not* P2W, you can access all the content if you put the time in.

Of the games I've played in this genre - WoT and War Thunder, er, others that I forget right now, this feels like the fairest to the players across the board.
