tldr:
Great graphics and animation
Great Story
Unique and Memorable characters
Excellent attention to detail in the mood and atmosphere
A great and well used OST
A not annoying maze that's wrongly called a "labyrinth" probably because that sounds cooler than "maze"

-

I've been following Ken for a while now, since before this game was even started, however it's only now that I've finally had the treat of playing it!

I'm certain the art sells itself, the cutesy DS-reminiscent style catches the eye easily! But what really impressed me was the full-on animated sequences! I won't say anymore about them but they are excellent and add a lot to the game!

Being a Story game, I wanted to say it has a great balance of clearly laid out, and followable story with twists and turns, while still leaving a great deal of details, easter eggs, and questions that get my "theorist senses tingling".
The main story itself manages to surprise and delight, without anything feeling like it's coming out of nowhere.

Speaking of the main story, there's a very memorable cast of characters, each being unique and likable in their own ways! Some interesting choices to make when interacting with at least one of them as well.
I can't say much more, only that I like the plushie I bought even more now that I've met his in-game counterpart. Yes I bought a plushie for a game I hadn't played yet. Yes it was very worth it!

The controls and gameplay, while simple, are very fun, and the puzzles are very enjoyable as well.
Nothing in this game is too difficult, so don't expect a challenge, unless you're very new to video games of course.

The game also uses cartoony gore very infrequently, and very few meaningful jumpscares, drawing most of it's scares on psycological horror. I didn't die very often though, so perhaps jumpscares are more common if you do.

I'm personally not frightened by games very much, but plenty of scenes felt tense, and the vibe and atmosphere was excellent throughout!

Speaking of which, the soundtrack and visual ambiance of this game is probably one of my favorite parts! There's so many little details and droning sounds, and even clever use of silence during certain moments that really brings the whole game together!

As far as criticism is concerned, I don't really think anything meaningful is warranted. Only that there's plenty of room for growth and experimentation in future chapters/games, which I'm very much looking forward to! I'm also uncertain if the game is very easily replayable, but there doesn't seem to be multiple endings so there might not be much reason to.
Still, being a short and sweet game, replayability is often a good thing to try to include. Not at all required tho.

Also, I just wanted to say I really liked the maze! Mazes are usually annoying, but this one is really good at not being annoying at all, which is impressive for a maze! Good job Ken! ^.^

Oh but uh- it's called a "labyrinth", and "labarynths" technically don't have dead ends, nvm the praise Ken, 0/10! worst game called a maze a labyrinth >:(
jk lol

This game, in my opinion, succeeds at everything it tries to do, and it's trying to do some very cool stuff!
Would highly recommend to anyone in the mood for a short but sweet spooky game! ^.^

The standard playthrough is amazing and the full experience is traumatizing!
Cannot recommend enough! 👍

(I don't want to add any more to that because it's kinda funny- but just to be clear- something that gets me to hug my computer upon hearing a characters voice again, nearly cry and kinda cry a little multiple times, and make audible pain noises when reflecting on the story IS A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MASTERPIECE! Like HOLY ****ING **** I DID NOT EXPECT THEM TO GO THERE!)

I marked down this game as one I needed to play before I die, and if I didn't value my life as hard as I do, I'd be pretty alright with becoming as gods now lmao (joke, please nobody become as gods, like seriously)

Oh sure, I could criticize lots of minor things, like the fact that 2B's skirt goes crazy when you sit on a bench, but tbh I don't care much about those and they're kinda funny if nothing else.

The soundtrack is beautiful, and has a certain consistency to it, where each song has multiple layers and intensities! The character arcs and characters themselves are all phenomenal! I don't know what else to add. This game is just something else.

Be sure to play it before you become as gods, will you?

When asking whether or not you want to play a round of Civ 6... what you're actually asking is whether or not you want to stay up till 4am.

Remember that.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you how amazing it is that the game looks this good being from 2008. You can see it for yourself. It looks as good as it does in the screenshots, if not more so!
As for the rest of the game, the story is alright, I love the concept tho. The music and atmosphere are phenomenal. Ngl, closing my eyes, taking a deep breath, and picturing this game actually helps chill me out when anxiety gets up the last few days.

Actually replayed some of the levels from this and it was fun to see how much faster I could get through them.
It's a little bit of a steep learning curve in a few places, but damn the mechanics for this game are solid!
Wildly creative and different/more-in-depth than most games with parkour mechanics I've played, and this would've been even more cutting edge in the day. Of course, I haven't played many parkour games.

Overall, it's aged VERY well! It's short, cheap, and high-quality. Highly recommend it ^.^

This game isn't just a game, it's a journey. A long journey, fraught with trial and tribulation. Frustration and doubt. Triumph. Moments of quiet solitude.
It affected me.

It's not for everyone, and all play styles are valid.
But I'll warn you, to truly PLAY this game, you'll have to let go of the notion that death is bad.
Failure is nothing more than an opportunity to try again. To learn from your mistakes. Mistakes will happen. Sometimes it's fair, and sometimes it's not, but that's life.

Again, it's not for everyone, but I don't regret a minute spent on this game (except maybe the valiant gargoyles, I'm not alone in that).

I'm sure I don't need to tell you this game is absolutely gorgeous. The music phenomenal. The designs often wildly creative and awe-inspiring.
I don't need to tell you that it manages to be one of the best open worlds despite being Fromsofts very first.
And I certainly don't need to tell existing fans of Fromsoft titles about the nature of Soulsborne combat. They know it better than I do, seeing as this was my first of it's kind. At time of writing this, my only other experience is just past beating Ornstein and Smough in DS1. (after beating ER) I see why so many love that fight.

But this is a review for Elden Ring, so I'll stay focused on this game.

Lastly, before you enter this world, there's a few more things you need to know.
1. Don't attack the guy who calls you maidenless. You can kill him later if you really want to, but trust me, you aren't ready. (he's got some good quest rewards too)
2. Bladd is best boy.
3. Hewg deserves all of the love.

Now, rise, ye Tarnished. Rise and journey to stand before the Elden Ring... and become the Elden Lord.
And don't you dare go hollow.

This is one of the few games to make me audibly and noticeably make me start shaking and making "very scared noises" and I still haven't finished it yet!

It's wild just how big everything is. That conveys all of ZERO of just how wild it actually is, but... you'll see when you play it. ;)

I really loved this game! It's short, sweet, and Charming! Nothing sinister going on here, nope, not at aLl!
The dIfferent modes are a lot of fun, and the story is interesting. I haven't gotten all the endings yet, but I definitely feel the urge to, that's a sign of a really great multi-ending game like this.

Again, it's fairly short, but meant to be played multiple times, so it makes sense. I would highly recommend it! It's pretty Cheap, so definitely worth the pricE tAg, and super undeRrated!

Also, BINGUS ;)

WOW!
Just, WOW!
I gotta say, that was quite the ride!
I cannot recommend this game enough!
The humor is great, the writing is superb, and the characters, visuals, music, wow!
The only thing I would complain a little about is the control scheme, but you get
used to it, and it's flaws are nothing compared to the rest of it!

I have to say, I was ready to give a negative review almost, just because of how
mad I was at thinking... well... I won't spoil it, but let's just say, I definitely would've
demanded justice for River, but it all worked out in the end.

The amount to which you fall in love with these characters is amazing, and I'm
a sappy boy who TRIES to become invested, but still, the star gazing scene got me
to literally cry as things all clicked together, which is something that a story has gotten
me to do maybe once or twice, if even that.
It was only like, 1 tear, but MAN was it something!

This game is absolutely amazing! And if you like a good story, filled with trajedy, humor,
and a unique and creative setting, then you HAVE to play To The Moon!

I got it on sale for 3 bucks, but I want my money back so I can buy it again at full price
now that the sale is over! Heck, by 3 copies, you deserve it!
If this game were $35 I would say it was worth the money.
Sure, nobody would buy it, since something like this is hard to convey, but man!

Just, just play it. You don't have any excuse not to.
It's $10 and I beat it in a single go (breaks in-between, but I didn't do much of anything else
between sessions besides grab a snack, or go to the bathroom) and maybe took me
about 4 hours.
This isn't a 20 hour game, and it's not $60.
It's 4 hours, and 10 bucks, and more than worth the time, money, and effort it takes to play!
Besides that, you're helping a criminally under-apreciated indie GEM!

Seriously! Play this right now!
Like I said, you don't have any excuse not to!
(gosh I wish I'd played this game sooner, it's awesome!)

If I could name a game that has had a bigger impact on my life than UNDERTALE, it would be something indeed.
Only a couple come even close.

Thankyou Toby. For everything.

Oh, and here's my old cringe review from what? 3 years ago? You can read it if you like ^.^

"I... I didn't want to do it... I just...
HAD to know what would happen...
...
hm...
Maybe this was a bad idea, steam cloud sync won't let me
reset my save information...
...
maybe I'm not above the consequences...
kinda wish I had reset just a tiny bit sooner...

Over all, great game!
(just don't finish the genocide route unless you're willing to concede to the fact that there will never be a happy ending after it... unless your smarter than me, in which case good job on figuring out how to disable cloud saves on the new steam interface. I'll probably just gogole it, so I... no... they... should be fine.
I will never be able to forget the consequences.
the UNFORSEEN consequences...
ha... ha... ha....
...
yeah...)"
