I would recommend the game, I kinda liked it, but not in its current state.

Lets find the pro's first:
- wh40k lore.
- main story
- fights
- abundance of skillpaths (some meh moments though - like why even bother inviting me to open level up screen if there is only one skill I can get right now, a predefined one by my class? just add it and don't even notify me about a levelup, why make me click 3 times for each character in the party?)

Cons:
- schroedinger voice acting. Lines in dialogues seem to be chaotically voiced, I don't even know on what basis. Some story dialogues are not voiced and youre forced to read through them, others optional ones are perfectly voiced. Like, guys, just decide already, if you wanna voice it, then do it all the way for each and every dialogue for each party member. If not - then don't do it at all, have some consistency please.
- terrible side quest design - I have multiple quests now, like the one with the cache in docks on Footfall, where you cant do it untill you progress on the main story, and literally NOTHING lets you know that. My side quest just says "find a cache near the window" and I searched to no avail, reported it as a bug, and only when I googled it I found out that its just main story progressed. Quest design like this is misleading and frustrating.

So pls fix those issues, and then it will be a good game, for now its fans only IMO.

UPDATE: Having played further into the game I learned to accept the flaws of the game and I can say the further part of it is worth having these inconveniences at the start. The dialogue voicelines are still only partly voiced with no obvious basis to it, and some quests are more than vague, but they did catch the universe atmosphere, so I intend to forgive that and eventually decided to change my review to recommended. Its a good game after all ;)

This was my first rpg game. Back in the day I didn't really understand how to play it properly so I dropped it somewhere at the start, but now I really rediscovered it again. Really cool game for someone who likes old rpg action games, thanks for bringing it to steam.

Завершил своё первое прохождение спустя 315 часов в игре, если кто то любит облазить всё, залутать всё интересное, а потом примерять на персонажах смотря кому что подойдёт, и проходит уже в самом конце сюжетку с кайфом - вам сюда, это такая игра, тут очень много побочных заданий и среди них очень много интересных и прикольных)

Короче, чувство аддиктивности, когда садишься поиграть на часок и еле отлипаешь через 4 - в наличии. По ощущениям от менеджмента сильно похожа на Cities Skylines, но тут нужно немного больше микрить всякими мелкими моментами типа перемещения ресурсов и людей между секторами станции.
Сюжет прикольный, с твистами) Пока нравится, потом допишу ещё)

Also, don't stack too many weapons in your inventory, this leads to save corruption with assertion failed read buffer.
D3D11 renderer is highly recommended to fully enjoy the game in 2022.

UPD. a cool Russian developer made a remaster of Gothic 1 in Unreal Engine 5, try it! Its awesome. A new life for the game!

Well, the combat system was a bit unfamiliar for a guy who played a lot of Gothic 2 back then (I never played the first one), and combat moves feel really sluggish and slowed down, but it didnt take a lot of time to get used to it.
The teaser looks nice, a bit overlighted here and there, graphics look good when just running around but terrible in dialogues (2008-like?).
But in general, thank you so much for this trip to my childhood and school days! I really want to play the final product now.
BUT take your time guys, please, make it nice and good, polish it up, fix all the stuff and release a fully working and optimized game, don't be like everyone else novadays.
A word to pass to PMs and producers of this game in development - don't you fracking dare forcing the devs to release it before its time, don't be c*nts and idiots and don't yourselves in the leg by doing this. Done when done, please hear me on this. I am so tired of half-assed games.

Infantry Combat - very realistic (I die just like I would IRL, without even a basic idea which direction the shot came from) 9/10
Though there are some sound bugs - if you switch to auto-fire on AK74M and tap once, you fire one bullet, but hear 3 shots.

Aerial Combat - no auto-hover on helis, no missiles on helis, no planes? (just started but I don't really see any), so aircraft here is solely for hauling troops from A to B and some gunfire (until you get shot down), meh - 6/10 just because the helis are there to fly.

Vehicle Combat - really guys, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BMP not able to crush down some wooden fence or a thin tree? The environment is not destroyable at all, building don't crumble down after an artillery strike, you cannot crush a wall of a sandstone house by ramming it on a T62, BTR-80 can get stuck while rolling over a 30cm high sandstone wall in the open field, BMP can get stuck in a picket fence just by clipping its side in it.... really? It is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Unreal Engine 4, you can do better guys(
Environment Interaction - 0/10
Sound inside the vehicles is ♥♥♥♥, everything is muffled down like youre driving a Maybach with active noise dampener turned on (don't tell me about the tank helmets, you just can't muffle down the sound THAT MUCH even when you wear one).
Sound inside vehicles - 0/10
General Vehicle movement and guns - 10/10 - I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love the 30mm autocannons.
Soo, Vehicle combat in general - 3/10 - needs improvements with sound and destroyable environment.

Game overall - 7/10 i would say, definitely recommend to anyone, but the vehicle vs environment interaction is beyond bad.

Played and completed it for the first time. Still good. Recommend to anyone who likes Witcher.

The idea is cool, the game looks great, but the controls (mouse and keyboard) are awfully designed. There is no sure way to climb down a steep branch or a cliff edge, you either have to carefully walk from it and then try to grab, or just jump from it like an idiot. The reddit and some other sites said C (drop button) does the trick, but nope, it doesnt work.
So because of this its really annoying to just try and play it.
If anyone knows how to actually climb down comfortly here, I would gladly give the game a second chance.
