I got this game in the Jingle Jam bundle 2022, well I think it was 2022. At least my money went to charity.

The game is OK at best, wait for it to be on sale.

Graphics are ok, music is nice, the story is dumb, luckily you can skip it, you can also skip the game entirely by not purchasing it.

You are some sort of vegetable that is a minion of a witch who wants to fight an hero carrot, you just walk forward and have to bump on some things to walk the other way. at some point you learn how to jump and dash.

You die in 1 hit, some maps have a ton of checkpoints and some longer maps have no checkpoints.

There is cosmetics to collect in every map, but your looks does not shop up in cutscenes.

RWS do not understand the two steps of a cash grab game, you release a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game in a beloved franchise AND ask money for it.

They forgot the second part.

It's an ok game. It looks good, music is decent, not difficult at all. The backgrounds are gorgeous, but you will not really look at them unfortunately. Wallpapers of those backgrounds would be fun to have.

You dig to get material to upgrade your mech, suit and various gear that you find. Each biome have a specific rare resource, so to upgrade everything you will need to go up and down the wall.

After a certain amount of time a wave of enemies attack you. The wave gets bigger with new enemies each time, but the enemies are not randomized.

After 20 minutes you get attacked by the leviathan, a big monster. Unfortunately you MUST lose several times to get permanent upgrades before even thinking of being able to defeat him. Nothing to do if you are really good at fighting.

Once you understand that the waves are not randomized you can easiy upgrade stuff in a more efficient way.

Also, holy jiggle physics Batman!

You spend more time between the levels than playing the levels
Feels like a mobile game
You cannot double click a unit or a perk to add it or remove it, you need to drag and drop to the exact right spot instead
There are levels that pretty much play automatically
Your units who can grab keys will rush to grab those keys to unlock paths for the enemies instead of actually fighting

First time the game runs it will give you an error for not closing the game correctly because reasons
If I run the game full screen my 4080 starts screaming
If I run the game full screen the fps are capped at 30 for some reason
Boring as hell

Sadly this feels like a cash grab.

The music and visuals are as good as the first game, some bosses are really cool, others are meh at best

You only have 1 ship, so no space hotdog truck, and that also means no different mounting points
No spaceship paint jobs
Barely any space salvage crates to crack open, I think I got 4 or 5 total
The game is pretty short, about 3 hours for 1 run
Upgrading the spaceship is pretty easy and can be done very fast, there are more upgrades but most are pointless
Not much variety in the game levels, no underwater level, no flying in your jetpack mission,
Many enemies really look like they came straight from the first but with a slight paint job on them

Only buy if you are a huge fan and when it is discounted
