I'm an Absolute Noob to the genre even!! (Primarly play FPS and before that I came from The sims4 .. so for context.) BUT. We live in 2024. We have Internet. I can look up walk throughs, tip and tricks, things to do, bonus ... thingies... And still completely enjoy the game. As a means of escape; i tip my hat! The little noises, the ambiance, the sounds, the visuals! OMG. (And I'm just Soooo happy that my character can FINALLY SIT DOWN ! and chillax!). Love that for him! But for real - good challenges to help you work your strategies, plan moves, delegate, real life skills! Amazing voice acting and I obviously LOVE the richness of story telling and character depth! So much amazing ... layers and layers of depth if you take the time to know the cast!

OMG so like if you Never played a "retro" game but kinda wanna try the flavor, go for this ! Action packed, nice waves of enemies, even on easy mode it's action packed! (T_T i honestly don't want to imagine what hard and insane levels look like...) Good sound, good soundtrack, the pixel art is ... a bit difficult for me who started with m ore fleshed out graphcs but adds a bit of challenge i guess. Overall - really love this ! one of my best pick-up games!

i'll start with my only complaint about this game. How come a steam / PC game requires a controller ? Aren't we PC people keyboard and mouse based ? or ... i'm just old ?

And now ; onto the positive. Holy bonkers wow this game though! I'm just happy that a Warhammer game has a map in game... thank you Emperor of Mankind for this! (Compared to BoltGun and I don't remember if Necromunda but i doubt... has one...Also Vermintide ... ) Anyway -- Enemies are doable, i Only died in a way over leveled for me current character area which was still a neat challenge not gonna lie!

Graphics are GORGEOUS ! Sound design is delicious! immersive. Gameplay is very neatos! Very dungeon a la Diablo immortal (that sort of 3D from above view) and sooo gloriously Warhammer like in the detailed intricate gothic architecture with a decent amount of gore and blood and weird monster tentacles and stuff. Love the variety of enemies.

Menu is a bit challenging to navigate as i'm keyboard based and this is strictly controller based game - and holy hell the menu is rich and complex for a noob that comes from easy peasy grandma pie Borderlands 3 type of menu.... but it's neat exploration i suppose.

Overall, I really enjoy it though ! (And I could watch tutorials on youtube to get acquainted with menus and skills points and stuff). Also - i'm totally new to the Warhammer community and games so -- double learning ? BUT I LOVE the language style - the lore - it's so rich !

I'm coming from Borderlands 3 so THIS is in my heart, a sort of a baby cousin to BL3; the Pandora fashion aesthetic of the characters, the grunge, the dirty post apocalyptic vibe but with more realistic blood and gore, the sassy jaded one-liners or dialogue (totally my cup of tea!)

I have to give the biggest prop to the devs for making the jumping, double jumping and jumping or running alongside walls easy and manageable for "Game tourist" me who has all the issues in the world doing platformer style jumping (which i despise in shooter games)

It took me a lil while to get how to ... accept and add weapons and charms to my load ("backpack" equivalent - it's like the loadout in Arms race - clicking the slot and then the gun or item) but....... overall holy schnitzels am I enjoying this !! I also accidentally re-started a mission (which, after though, i am NOT against - i can get more comfortable with the map and game play style at my pace - the story doesn't change or halt ... that is a neat detail for me).

I only know a little of the Warhammer 40K lore (watched youtube videos) but i like that this is mostly human based, it gives a sense of depth to the universe (not only big armored space marines - because i was wondering about... humans in the whole Warhammer universe).

Anyway - i'm very happy for this random purchase ! If you just wanna casually shoot the ♥♥♥♥ around and have nice satisfying underground grunge post apocalyptic almost Harkonnen-styled steel industrial underground... dystopian shooty shooty action - this is IT ! (Ps the maps are pretty damn nice!!

OMG IT'S HILARIOUS !! Visuals are immersive as heck even in cut scenes you can pan the camera about, as if you were P3 - it's very immserive. The dialogues are Everywhere. (You can even hear two men taking a nap on benches outside and snoring!!) The gameplay is smooth - the action is there! Communist robots are no jokes my friend! Their "choke me daddy" game is ... an absolute flat-liner! But for the dialogues alone, omg i'd get this game for the laughter alone. Give the writer teama tiramisu cake plz.

Just because I can have my lil Claptrap as the main protagonist - OMG have you seen his special ability ? from Bezerker to Siren ! Just for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! And on a comparison note. Can you believe that the driving of a buggy on the foken moon in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel is EASIER than the driving in Night City in Cyberpunk2077 ? Facts. Guns are good, shooting is good, maps are good. OMG the visuals and all ♥ wow.

I have bought the game and the season pass was a gift from a dear friend

Okay, right off the bat : I LOVE THIS GAME ! I'm coming from Borderlands 3 (september 2019 to day of this review both on Epic and Steam) and i'm a Zane main. NOW THIS game though is a whole other ball game but OMG so deliciously different and a whole new level of challenging as enemies will spawn literally in the back of you and on your sides while you're busy busting brains of 3-5 in front of you! The maps are GLORIOUSLY detailed and amazing looking! The big bosses are a crunchy challenge! And at the moment (3 hours played and level 7 i still can't beat a boss on my own xD playing offline Solo.

The CONS or slightly down in my opinion : (again WITH a strong bias) coming from Borderlands 3 - no sliding! OMG i keep pushing the key comboes (sprint) and the slide and nothing and i'm like d'oh! Jumping being limited too is kind of tricky when you have 2 big baddasses in your face and you're desperately trying to do anything to weaken them and move elsewhere. I still don't understand ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about weapons and it's kind of sad that damage points are so low in the early (i dare hope) levels. (Being used to decent damage in Borderlands)

BUT Music and ambiance : HOLY Mother of YUM ! Excellent stuff.

Overall I love this! I want to reach level 10 before i join online and experience the alternate version of this game.

In absolute ALL honesty; i have NO clue what so ever in what i am doing at all! But i lived through the tutorial missions (up to killing captain Vor) without DYING which is an absolute miracle in my book. I LOVE Looter Shooter games (Blame Borderlands 2 and Zane Flynt who has educated me in aiming at the head and shoot). So I LOVE This game; but I have ZERO Clue as to what I am doing. The Mods and building layout is straight out of another world complicated (compared to Borderlands) so I'm just clicking all over the screen and hope for the best BUT i'm having fun :D The maps are amazing, the graphics, the game play, jumping, sliding, double jump! Mechanics are pretty foken awesome :D

Having played Borderlands3 since launch date (september 13 2019) via the Epic store, I can ONLY recommend this game! Sure it was a bit difficult in the beginning (being a Zane main) and my previous experience being Unreal Tournament 2004 10 years ago about, BUT HOLY HELL ! The movement, the sliding,t he JUMPING! (i now cannot play a game where the character cannot jump xD). The Guns offer a HUGE variety of game play style, though we all know there are some OP favorites ;) but you can always step out of the bandwagon, go your own route, challenge yourself and play the game with only white, green, blue or purple and combine guns, shields, artefacts, class mods to make your character OP and do serious damage. Most everyone I know absolutely HATE the Calypso Twins (compared to Handsome Jack) but i myself happen to LIVE, breath and ♥♥♥♥ on YouTube, so Echo-Net streaming ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are MY Cup of tea! And I LOVE how Tyreen calls the Vault Hunter "Super Fan". I have leveled up Zane, Amara, Moze and Fl4k. I have tried all 4 Vault Hunters - I cannot tell a difference much, since I play Heavy Offense and just dive in the enemy and shoot everyone in the head, BUT, each have their own skills which help (if you happen to Remember to USE them, which, I, more than half the time, didn't, relying solely on my guns, skills and speed.

I have played only 40+ hours of BL2 in comparison of 900+ of BL3 so i am obviously unconditionally in LOVE with this game. The sceneries, the planets, each so intricate and detailed and Their own without looking anything like the previous one WHILE at the same time, keeping a coherent flow with how Each manifacturer's guns look so you know already on the ground how to differentiate Tediore from Torgue even! At some point, even if you hate ratches, it just feels familiar and homey to have to clean a map on this or that planet and see those bloody pestilent rodents! While some (Skag, rakks, jabbers, dinos) remaining exclusive to their own home planets.

All in All, don't be a cry baby. Try this game. Mechanics have been heavily updated since launch date, it's a highly enjoyable looter shooter, Smooth Operator ;)

I originally started with Borderlands 3 but i had purchased Borderlands 2 (game of the year edition with all DLCs) two years go during summer sale, but never installed or played because didn't feel an appeal to it. But Holy Foken WOWzers land! Compared to BL3 (I main Zane) Zero is built stronger than Zane at launch, but the shielded nomads are a bloody Pain in the butt cheeks to beat! The map is hella different (not so ...fluid and easy) the mechanics are a lil under BL3 but this came first so it's normal. Overall - i leveld up Zer0 14 levels in my 15 first hours of game play - story mission and side quests included. The enemies seem honestly harder but it's a nice victory rush when you beat them all! Graphics are from the era for sure but still beautiful (the ice especially is beautiful). It's overall a beautiful shooter looter and i would highly recommend to any First person shooter fan. The humor alone is worth the game but defeating Hyprion loader bots is bloody satisfying too. The bullymongs are totally awesome to beat too. I couldn't say much about the skill trees since i'm a total noob and only understand about 30% of the whole gig xD Something i noticed is that artefacts seem rarer in BL2 than 3 but guns are still bloody good stuff! I lucked out and got a Jakobs Maggie farily early so i did some pretty nice damage.
