**This review was written after completing the entire story. I have also played through Bastion, their previous game, multiple times and it's one of my favorite games.**

Let me first say this: The reason to play Transistor is mostly for the art, sound design, and emotion. If you don't care about those things and just want to blow stuff up, then this may not be what you're looking for. The gameplay at first confused me, but as I understood how to handle things it also became fun for me. If you are expecting the fast-paced hack/slash style gameplay from Bastion, you won't really find that here. The combat relies more on planning out moves, although it is also possible to fight realtime. The thing that impressed me most about the combat system is the amount of combinations you can make by combining different "functions." It's really quite impressive.

The story seems very vague at first, and you may think that there is really nothing significant going on, but that changes. Like Bastion, it throws you into the middle of the story without giving you any explanations of what has gone on up to that point. But by the end of the game, assuming you were paying attention, you actually are able to piece together what has been going on the whole time and it adds a lot to the emotion of the overall game.

I'm glad I stuck with it without judging it wrongly. What started out as a seemingly underwhelming story tugged at my emotions in the end and made me eager to begin it again to unlock the achievements and other functions. Is it as memorable as Bastion? I don't think anything they make will seem better to me than Bastion. But this was far from a disappointment. Thanks for your hard work, Supergiant Games!

8.5/10
+Great art and sound design
+Fun gameplay and move combos
-Characters are not as memorable as Bastion's

My favorite rhythm game of all time. I could play this game over and over again. It just never gets old. I love putting on my headphones and getting into the music while I play. It can be frustratingly hard, yet somehow relaxing at the same time, especially when you get good at it.

I played through Basion on iOS multiple times. I almost never play through a game's story mode more than once. But Bastion is pure gold and I've gone through it multiple times on my iPad. I plan to play it on Steam as well. The narrator is THE BEST! I've become obsessed with his work. I listen to the soundtrack frequently. This game is so well done. If you haven't played it, stop reading these reviews and just go play it! You won't regret it.

One of my favorite games of all time. It's got great pacing and never once felt boring to me.

The gameplay is just SO FUN! I've played through the story 3 times, completed it 100% and unlocked all achievements. That's a rare thing for me. I never do that.

They did a great job with Lara's character. The visuals and environments are gorgeous. Upgrades are fun and always keep things fresh. Multiplayer is a lot of fun, but the online community is rather dead nowadays which is very unfortunate.
