Enjoyable couch co-op game that is also fun solo. It's not super lengthy but has some replay value. I thought the difficulty was just right. To be honest, I'm not sure why the reviews are "mixed" here on Steam at the time of writing this.

I'd say it's easily an 8/10.

(Skip to the bottom to see a summary of my review, and the improvements/drawbacks of the PC version compared to the console versions.)

In FF13, the music is great, the visuals are quality (especially with mods), the story is wonky but entertaining, and the battle system is very unique and engaging. At first it may seem overly simple, but it will certainly keep you on your toes once you get deeper into it (honestly I will always love this series for its battle system).

You'll enjoy this game if you can look past the flaws it has--namely the confusing plot, a few melodramatic characters (In the English version at least. I'm looking at you, Vanille and Hope), and extreme linearity (lots of corridors until it eventually opens up more).

However, if you're looking for a plot that will blow your mind, deep characters you can relate to, or a freeform open world to explore, this is probably not what you're looking for.

Pros:
+Fantastic visuals
+Fantastic soundtrack
+Interesting battle system (requires a fair bit of time to get used to)
+Lightning is cool
+Sazh is awesome
+Good controller support. But you need to change the option in the settings to display Controller prompts rather than keyboard prompts.

Cons:
-What on earth is going on in the story? I still can't really tell you.
-Too many hallways/corridors to run through during the first half, though it does open up a bit more after 20 hours. You may develop claustrophobia before then, though.
-Vanille and Hope. You'll see what I mean. Although they're far less cheesy if you use Japanese audio.

Length: 40-50 hours depending on your speed and how much of the side stuff you complete.

PC version improvements:
+Higher frame rate than the console versions (60 fps)
+Japanese audio! The US console versions did not include this feature.
+Possibility of mods. Who knows, maybe someone can mod Vanille and Hope out of the game entirely.
(This list will be updated if I discover more.)

PC version drawbacks:
-Needs the FF13Fix mod (Google it) to reach its full potential.
-The Esc button exits the game. This is beyond annoying. Mod please!

After finishing the main story, I have to say that every Lord of the Rings fan should play this game. The plot gets pretty good (although the first half is a little slow) and it adds some nice background details about Sauron and the ring. The graphics are beautiful (though it requires a beefy PC), the combat is fast and fluid, and of course the Nemesis system that everyone is talking about is not only innovative, but fun. I do wish that I saw some hobbits along the way though, but at least we got a dwarf! :)

Wonderful game. It took me a while to see the beauty of it. But eventually I discovered that the more I play it, the more I love it. I come back to it more often than almost any of my other games on Steam to shoot and loot both solo and with friends. The humor is great, abilities and weapons are fun, and the DLC is fantastic (I'm normally not a fan of DLC). Well worth the money.

Early Access Review
Spent an hour scavenging goods and slaying zombies. I was beginning to feel super powerful. Got stuck in a water well and couldn't get out. Had to blow myself up with frag grenades. 10/10.

Seriously though, for a 100% free-to-play game it's a whole lot of fun so far. No ads or annoying in-app purchase stuff. Just pure free fun.

Simply put, this is the best karting game to ever have existed on PC, and quite possibly the best karting game currently in existence period. If you're running Windows 10, one thing you may have to do to get the configuration launcher working properly is set the Launcher.exe to use Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Spelunky is my go-to game for when I have friends over and we want to play something co-op. It's a blast when you're with 3-4 people especially. The only negative is that there is no online co-op, which sucks because I'd like to play it with friends who live far away.

Loved this one. It feels like a bit of a mix between Thief: Deadly Shadows and BioShock Infinite with its own uniqueness mixed in. Great gameplay, art, and story.

Just finished this game and I loved it! I played through this on my iPad, but I have to say that the PC version is much more enjoyable to me so far. I think this is a game that is best enjoyed when you're not on-the-go, so that is why I prefer the PC version. Seeing it on a bigger screen and hearing it with better speakers makes it much more immersive. It has one of the most unique art styles I have ever seen. The music is fantastic and I have been listening to the soundtrack frequently outside of the game. The story is intriguing. In short, this is a masterpiece and well worth the 4-5 hour play-through if you can accept the strangeness and just try "feel" the game and the music. They put a lot of emotion into it. Oh, and use a nice pair of headphones if you have access to some.

Pros:
*Even though it's a point-and-click adventure game, you get a little sword fighting/blocking action which is great in my opinion.
*Music! Awesome feel.
*Art style is very unique and beautiful.

Cons:
*Not much replay value, but for a low price that's not much of an issue for some people.

9/10
