I started this game in the year 2000 on PS1, got about 30% of the way through and lost my save. I have been wanting to play it all the way through since then, and this enhanced released proved to be the perfect opportunity for that.

After completing it, I can say that this is without a doubt my favorite Final Fantasy game ever created. The story has so much heart, the visuals were ahead of their time, and the music is absolutely phenomenal.

Performance:
The game has never looked better. HD cinematics are pretty, backgrounds seem slightly upscaled, and the new character models look great and true to form. Both keyboard/mouse and controller setups are supported. Mouse support for menus and movement. Controls can be remapped. New features (like auto save) and boosters. Best of all, it's stable. I'm happy.

Blown away by the amount of things you can do with this. Simple to make your own games or play games others have made. They have just about every type of tabletop game you can imagine in the workshop. Fantastic idea, brilliantly executed.

I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan despite the fact that I never got around to playing FF7 in its glory days. I can now testify after finally beating it that the game deserves much of the praise it has received.

HOWEVER, if you didn't grow up with Final Fantasy or "old school" JRPGs, you might find this game a little tough to get into due to the conveniences we are now offered in modern games.

There are random battles which can't be avoided without the use of third party software. I still highly recommend it, but perhaps consider using a guide if you just want to play it for the story, as it doesn't always hold your hand.

I still think FF9 is superior and makes for a better entry point to the Final Fantasy series. I think FF7 gets a bit too much credit. That being said, it is still a fantastic game--one that every RPG fan ought to play.

The story is short and the graphics are simple. The gameplay, however, is where this game shines. It's fun, innovative, and will keep you coming back even after you beat the game.

I finally found out how much wood a woodchuck would chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

The answer is 10/10: would chuck again.

The things I love most about this game are the atmosphere, music, and setting. I personally really enjoyed the story and I enjoyed playing a protagonist that actually has a voice--something that is new to the series.

A lot of people are upset about the simplified dialogue and RPG elements. I did not mind those things. As I get older, I find that I prefer simplicity in my games. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on that, but that's my personal opinion, and perhaps that is why this is the Fallout game I have enjoyed most.

I enjoyed every minute I spent with this game. Mods make it even better but are not necessary to enjoy the game. The base building system is a cool addition to the series. This was my game of the year for 2015.

Cautious recommendation. If you're really into JRPGs or the Final Fantasy series, I think this is a solid game. But it's strange and quirky enough to where you may be turned off from it if those things aren't really your jam. Remember, this is a PSP game originally. So don't expect mind blowing graphics or anything super advanced.

With that out of the way, I thought the story was very thought provoking and the combat was pretty darn slick and unique. It's also not overly long, so if you prefer shorter RPGs this one may be for you.

The port is quite good and shows that Square Enix is slowly learning how to make better PC games.

I'd give it a 7.5/10

The Steam Controller is great and all, but if you're using an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller and still want some of that functionality, then this is absolutely a MUST HAVE application for you especially if you stream games to the TV or otherwise use a controller extensively with your PC. I love its simple yet configurable design. It looks neat and clean, and performs exactly as expected.

The ControllerCompanion.exe file can be run from the "Steam\SteamApps\common\Controller Companion" directory, and you can set it to run at startup within the settings of the application, thus removing the need to execute it through Steam at all (if you don't want to appear as "In-Game: Controller Companion" to your friends).

It's seriously amazing, though I will admit that the Steam Controller has made me use this less frequently. I still recommend it wholeheartedly though.

Possibly the funniest game I've ever played. It's just so off the wall. I laughed out loud more times than I can count. And aside from that, it was just plain fun.
