Most bad reviews is by someone who this game simply isn't for - No, down-voting something because you don't have friends to play this with doesn't make it bad. Neither does talking about re-used assets considering the game is supposed to be just that.

+ This is a game which appeals to the playerbase who enjoys challenge runs such as randomizer or low-level, and not for anyone who wants a particularly "new" experience, For that, the game is great. So please, while you read the negative reviews really check what they say. And to note all the people whinging about the circle, I've not run into any issues myself. Simply checking the map every-so-often and already having an idea of what you want helps with the looting as well - people complaining about inventory management are getting skill checked. Be fr, each item only has one sub-stat... and most of them aren't going to useful for you at all times (looking at type damage negation).

+ Actually kino soundtrack. This is an album with a game attached.

? The biggest non-technical issue seems to be that players expected the game to be as forgiving as actual Elden Ring was. The freedom to over-level, the luxury of time, no real external pressure to succeed other than your own, and equipment you can reliably factor for; which were the main difficulty-allievators of the souls games in entirety. None of that here.

? Regarding player interaction, there is an issue there but it's not reflective of the developers that other players make silly decisions. Although, past day 3 of release most of my randoms have been consistently competent.

? Curiously, the weapon selection is purely base-game and some variables feel more rare. I've never seen a weapon actually roll carian grandeur once; and SOTE weapons and spells are woefully missing.

- However, it isn't perfect. EAC mars the performance and the netcode is - in classic From fashion - rather unstable. That said, I've only experienced one full disconnect before despite a few rather big desyncs. It's to be expected, since the engine and netcode were never really designed to facilitate synchronizing 3 people and simulate all the mobs for each. A technical achievement, given the engine, but not really up to the normal standard.

- Customization options are also... lacklustre. Of course too many bespoke cosmetics were perhaps out of the question, but the lack of variability still hurts.

This game is garbage.

NetEase's attempt at competing in the hero-tacsim-fps genre, it's everything you could do wrong. The gimmick of round modifiers is tacky; the guns feel comically easy to shoot with zero recoil or even bloom; it tries to copy valorant's work with the ability economy but decided not to have an economy at all; movement is meh; maps are too small for tactical nuance to matter; character abilities are meh.

graphically, this game is a cross between marvel rivals, valorant and xdefiant if all of them had a bastard child; it tries to have the neon colours and comic gradients but overdoes it to the point of nauseation. it's also probably not at all optimized - a game like this shouldn't be taking forever to load, nor fry a mid-spec computer - especially if it's at best like if you turned apex legends down to low.

I hate to give it to them, but literally just go play valorant if you really wanted this sort of game. I'm sorry to everyone who likes this game, I hope you get better

For what it is: It's got a really good hook and its themes appeal to me greatly. However, you will bounce off of it if you aren't big of entirely self-directed investigations. The game neither pressures, directs, nor challenges you except for what you notice. So read everything. Note everything. Question everything. If this doesn't appeal to you move on, but if those sound fun then you will love this game.

It's cute. lewdness aside, it's an engaging arpg in the likes of Diablo. It's significantly light on the mechanics and engaging for it.

As a gacha game it's certainly the easiest of PM's games. That said, the Odyssey had a purpose.

Peak fiction btw

If you're reading this after the debaucle of a post-launch nerf, know that the nerf was pretty mandatory. it was an instance power creep orders of magnitude so far over others that the game would have had to be near-wholly warped around it. PMoon should have put more effort into testing the thing, but necessary it arguably was.
