Damn. This might be legitimately the most beautiful game I've ever played, sonically, visually, and emotionally.

This delivers the sense of wonder, awe of natural beauty, and mystery of alien civilization that I wanted - but didn't get - from No Man's Sky. It is short, but meditative. Heck, there's a button to meditate and watch the fish. Austin Wintory's score is gorgeous, and perfect.

I cannot reccomend this game highly enough.

Best Civ yet, and it's got Gilgamesh in it!

Really, what more do you want?

More detailed reviewthing in the link, but the long and short of it is pretty simple.

It's like playing Spec Ops: The Line.

Except the developers seem to think you should feel good about your actions.

Pretty much how I remember it, which is flawed, but delightful.

Competently executed, but an uncomfortable play experience for me. Historically representetive 1940's American racism can be a fascinating thing to explore -- and these conversations are important to have in art -- but it's not really what I signed up for.

Spec Ops: The Line let me know what I was in for. Mafia II did not.

Charming AF.

Never played any Harvest Moon, or similar games in this genre, so the closest comparison I have is Reccetear - a favorite of mine - to which Stardew Valley compares favorably.

It's really good!

Update: it's 2025 and the game is phenomenal. Absolutely gorgeous.

Wanted to like it. Bought it after all the initial backlash, because it just seemed so damn beautiful, and I saw it on sale. A friend of mine sings its praises to the moon.

...

Theres just not much to it, really. It's a truly impressive feat of engineering, but for such a richly populated, vast universe, it feels kind of empty. For so much variety, it feels pretty similar from world to world.

I wanted to like it. I still want to like it. I occasionally try. But for my tastes at least, there's just not that much here. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend it.

Fun!

If you don't already like FO4, it probably won't change your mind. I *really* like FO4, and this is more of it. Good stuff - though when I hear somebody say the name "Vic," I jump a bit now ;)

A bit into it thus far: it's been exactly what I want, which is more Deus Ex.

Glorious! Will update review if additional time makes it seem more or less glorious ;D

One of the stupidest plots ever written, but incredibly refreshing gameplay. When it works, there's not really anything else like it. I bought this for 5 bucks on Xbox, then again on Steam, and I've probably gotten more enjoymnent out of it than several full-price, AAA games.

I'm a sucker for grappling hooks. This game does'm well!

TL;DR - it's more fun than it has any right to be.
