Darktide, instead of being Vermintide 3 in space that I wanted, is some gaming industry "standard practice" designed to improve investor relations more than anything else--and honestly, a part of me can't blame them because of how salty some of the fanbase is.

Darktide is a good game. I enjoyed my time with it but, at least for the time being, Darktide lacks the depth of gameplay that keeps me coming back to Vermintide 2. Given the atrocious half-baked release and lackluster endgame progression, I hope FatShark will redeem itself with free updates like they did with Chaos Wastes for Vermintide 2. I have little doubt that Darktide will be a great game in the future, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but the most loyal fans of FatShark.
